CSN's Fallon Smith has the latest on Carr's status:
ESPN's Bill Williamson had more detail:
"Carr has practiced all week on a limited basis. But he has moved well and Carr has been adamant that he will play without a brace on his ankle or knee. He suffered ankle and knee sprains Sept. 28 against Miami and departed the game in the third quarter. Carr has been confident he will play against San Diego since being injured in London.

Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area has the latest on Derek Carr as the Raiders' Week 6 matchup against the Chargers approaches:
"Carr was technically limited, but all signs point to him being ready to play against San Diego.
“We’re giving him work,” interim head coach Tony Sparano said. “He was limited out there today, but we didn’t need him to be full-go. He’s progressing nicely. We’ll see where we are as we get going later in the week.”

Derek Carr represents the future for the Oakland Raiders, but his latest injury could be a setback in his development.
The Raiders provided the latest details on the rookie quarterback's injury:
Scott Bair of CSN California reported on Carr following the game:
Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle passed along comments from Carr on his status:
Carr spoke about the injury via Jerry McDonald of insidebayarea.com: "I'm not going to come off the field if I can help it. It got to the point where I could barely stand on it. I guess the adrenaline wore off a little bit, but I tried to stay in. That's how much on fire it was."
After being selected with the 36th pick of the 2014 NFL draft, Carr earned the role as Week 1 starter after beating Matt Schaub in a preseason battle. Bleacher Report's Matt Miller explained that this was the right move for the organization:
Not only did the young passer showcase plenty of ability with his arm, but he has also learned from his brother, David, to become mentally ready for the NFL. Center Stefen Wisniewski explained to Tafur:
"He’s not your typical rookie. He’s got an NFL quarterback older brother that’s been teaching him for years. He understands defenses at a very advanced level more than most rookies would. I think Derek gets way more prepared than most rookies would be.
"
While he has certainly provided the Raiders with some bright spots, the latest injury is no doubt a disappointment for everyone involved. Hopefully this ends up being a minor issue for him before quickly returning to the lineup.
If forced to miss extended time, one could assume the team will have to turn back to veteran Schaub, who was traded from the Houston Texans for a sixth-round pick in the offseason.
McGloin replaced Carr against the Dolphins as Schaub was deemed inactive prior to the game. Schaub struggled in the preseason, completing 24 of his 47 attempts for 218 yards and an interception, but he has a 46-44 career record as a starter and should be able to help Oakland out more than McGloin if Carr can't play in the Raiders' next game.
