Drew Brees Hangs with Matthew McConaughey, Brad Pitt and Kenny Chesney in NOLA

How many celebrity encounters can you squeeze into one afternoon before the world melts from the sheer awesomeness?

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees managed three spectacular run-ins this weekend, and somehow, the Earth’s core has yet to implode.

According to Joseph Student of Busted Coverage, Brees was hanging out in downtown NOLA with actor Matthew McConaughey on Saturday.

The two men were enjoying some quiet brews and po boys out on McConaughey’s patio when Brad Pitt materialized on an adjacent balcony.

According to Lauren Yapalater of Buzzfeed, the actor lives in the building opposite McConaughey’s, but the two never knew it until Saturday. Pitt consecrated the revelation by slinging a cold one to McConaughey from across the alley.

Yep. That all happened, but the day wasn’t over for Brees and McConaughey. Later that evening, the two men headed to the House of Blues for a Kenny Chesney concert benefiting McConaughey's Just Keep Livin Foundation and Brees' Brees Dream Foundation.

Naturally, Brees and McConaughey ended up onstage with the country music star. 

And thus went a strange and spectacular day in the life of Drew Brees. The Saints quarterback attends charity events like it’s his job, but rarely do we see him cracking tall boys with Hollywood’s A-list.

Now that we have these two together, I’m legally obligated to throw this out there: 

Brees would be the perfect straight-man to play against McConaughey’s Rust Cohle. Also, Rob Ryan would make an excellent villain.

Think the Yellow King, but with better hair.
