After watching the Atlanta Falcons botch what could have been a great draft in the early rounds in my opinion, I decided to get into the time machine, go back to saturday, and tazer everyone in the Falcons war room and make the first two rounds' picks myself.

First, at the third pick, I would not have wasted any time in getting our pick in to the commissioner, as Glenn Dorsey was the obvious pick. In my not so humble opinion, he was the best player in this draft by far, and possibly comparible to Warren Sapp if he can stay healthy. Even if he doesn't, three good years from him are worth more than 6 mediocre ones from Ryan. Its not that i dont think Ryan is any good, its that I dont think hes THAT much better than the qbs that were available in the 2nd round.

Next, in an obvious reach, Atlanta traded picks with Washington and at the #21 pick took Sam Baker to protect their bad #3 pick, Matt Ryan. I believe this guy would have still been available at the pick Atlanta originally had, as only one lineman was selected in between picks 21 and 34, which was Duane Brown. If Baker was off the board at 34, I would have simply took Brown.

Now at #37 the Falcons took Curtis Lofton, and while im not extremely down on this pick, In my version of the draft, Atlanta still needs a qb and at this point we take Brian Brohm. I am a believer in Brohm, and actually believe he will be a better pro than Matt Ryan. I think he was a steal where Green Bay got him.

Now Atlanta didnt have another pick until the third round as they traded up, but since I wouldn't have made this trade we still would have had the #48 pick. At this pick I would have taken DeSean Jackson, as this gives my newly acquired qb a speedster target.

To recap, here are my picks. Remember Atlanta only had only one pick in the 2nd round because they traded up but in my draft they had all three picks in the 2nd round.

#3-Glenn Dorsey

#34-Sam Baker,Duane Brown(whichever was available)

#37-Brian Brohm

#48-DeSean Jackson

In the first two rounds, Atlanta could have drafted a dominant defensive lineman, bolstered the offensive line, drafted the quarterback most ready to play from day one, and a speedy wideout to compliment an anemic receiving corps.

I think had Atlanta made these choices, the team put on the field for this upcoming season would be much better than what we will actually see, as I believe Brohm is ready to play from day 1.
