NFL Draft: Congrats to Matthew Slater, Selected by the New England Patriots
AndyApr 27, 2008
Now, this is a special story. Slater was originally recruited to UCLA as a WR from Servite High School in LA, and was moved around to corner and safety, but never was high on the depth chart. Then, he finally found his niche on this team in the kick return game and boy was he a superstar, scoring 4 KR touchdowns this season (I know technically it’s 3, but YOU KNOW he didn’t step out of bounds against Stanford). He’s a speed demon and with some proper coaching will be not only an outstanding kick returner, but a BURNER at Wide Reciever (which is what NE drafted him as). He’s a great kid, also intelligent, humble and he’s got some FREAKIN’ AWESOME GENES!
One of the best tackles to ever play the game. Congrats to Matthew!
