In the biggest game of the year for the Kansas City Chiefs, they lost a number of key players to injury, including cornerback Brandon Flowers.

Don Banks of Sports Illustrated provides an update on Flowers' status:

In the third quarter during a Donald Brown touchdown, Flowers went down trying to tackle to ballcarrier and wasn't able to get up after the play.  Bleacher Report's Will Carroll provided his reaction to the play.

Flowers didn't seem to hit anything hard. Not knee, not turf. Hope he's ok.

After a couple of minutes, Flowers was able to get on his feet.  The NFL: Around the League tweeted that Flowers was heading to the locker room shortly after.

With 68 combined tackles, seven passes defended and an interception on the year, Flowers is a key part of the defense for the Chiefs.  With so many players going down with injuries, other players are going to have to step up.

Without Flowers, the Chiefs will need to hope for the rest of their defense to step up in his absence, especially with Jamaal Charles out for the game with a concussion:
