Updates on Ravens vs. Bears Game Temporarily Suspended Due to Severe Weather

Severe weather in the Chicago area temporarily suspended Week 11's NFL matchup between the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens, which kicked off at 1 p.m. ET.

The game resumed at 3:25 p.m. ET, the Bears announced:

The Ravens provided a photo of fans returning to their seats:

The Bears originally announced the delay on Twitter:

The game has been temporarily suspended due to the inclement weather. #Bears #BALvsCHI

The team added that Soldier Field's seating area was being evacuated due to the poor conditions.

Baltimore jumped out to an early 10-0 lead after a Ray Rice touchdown and Justin Tucker field goal in the first quarter. The game stopped with 4:51 left in the opening quarter.

The stadium’s public address system made it clear that the evacuation was a precautionary measure and that there is no danger to the fans or structure.

Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune noted that fans were not even allowed to remain in their seats during the delay.

"Remaining in your seat is not an option available to you" Soldier Field PA man announces.

Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago posted a photo of the interior of Soldier Field during the delay.

As per Weather.com, there are severe thunderstorms, rains and winds in Chicago Sunday afternoon, along with 66-degree temperatures.

This is the second time this season the Ravens have dealt with a weather delay. Baltimore's season opener in Denver was also delayed due to lightning.
