This Does Not Make Sense? Or Does It?

With the recent signing of Gary Russell it just leaves me scratching my head and wondering what this recent acquisition means. Who is the odd man out or do they really plan on carrying 4 running backs?

There were all the rumors/stories last year that Bush was being offered. And then this off-season Fargas was going to be traded sometime during the draft.

I know I don't make the decisions, if I did there would be several players still around ask me and I'll tell you. But Bush is the change of pace that this team needs!

How are you keeping the opponents on their heels if you platoon the same kind of player? Yes McFadden and Fargas differ and D-Mac has the speed whereas Fargas is the "Crash Test Dummy".

Which brings me to the most recent running back to be brought in. Where does Gary Russell fit in? I don't know much about the guy, had to go to You tube to find something, not much.

He appears at best to be a short yardage situational player. Then does that mean that Lorenzo Neal will just be a plow horse? After I heard about this signing I read what I could and some of the newspaper writers were saying what a good pick up this is.

Really? I just don't understand why he was signed, other than he is young-22 years old. What is he going to bring that we don't already have?

He is 2 inches shorter than the other backs, he outweighs McFadden by 5 pounds but weighs 5 pounds less than Fargas and 40 pounds less than Bush. So I doubt he will be looked at as a Fullback.

He does have a Super Bowl ring. Big deal so did Larry Brown! Experience? He has was drafted the same year as JaMarcus. So that goes out the window.

If there is anyone who can help me see why they brought in another running back I will gladly listen to your explanation. But as for now this is a boneheaded signing!

So for now the running back roster looks like this-McFadden, Fargas, Bush, Rankin, and Gary Russell. While at fullback we have Neal, O'Neal, Lawton, and Marcel Reece.

So tell me who will be let go or traded with this glut of running backs?

Cable could do the 3 headed monster and change the pace of the game, depending on the situation and having one additional back on the burner in the case that somebody goes down.
