Chris Johnson and Devin Hester to Race Cheetah for Nat Geo's 'Big Cat Week'

Have you ever wanted to see the fastest men in the NFL run foot races against a four-legged alpha predator?

If so, you have awesome priorities, and your wish has been granted.

According to Tony Maglio of TheWrap.com, two NFL speed demons will race against a cheetah to kick off Nat Geo Wild’s fourth annual “Big Cat Week.”

In a special titled “Man vs. Cheetah,” Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson and Chicago Bears kick returner Devin Hester will pit their speed and agility against the fastest of the big cats in a series of competitions.

The special will include Johnson and Hester racing the cheetah in down-and-back competitions meant to measure how their speed and ability to change direction stack up against the fast feline.

“We loved the idea of a face-off like no other between supreme athletes and an alpha predator,” said the executive vice president and general manager of Nat Geo Wild, Geoff Daniels.

Daniels isn’t the only one who is thrilled at the prospect, however.

“This is the most incredible challenge I’ve ever faced,” Johnson said. “I wanted to go up against the fastest in the world and test myself, and this was it.”

Even the fastest man in the NFL has his work cut out for him. Granted, his 4.24-second 40-yard dash time is blazing. 

Bear in mind, however, he is running against cheetahs, who look fast even in slow motion and can reach highway speeds. 

The stage is set for a monster showdown, which will be airing on Nat Geo Wild this November.
