Chicago Cubs Fan Saves Wife from Home Run Ball, Rewarded with Beer to the Face
Next Impulse Sports spotted evidence that marriage is indeed a 50/50 endeavor, as a wife decided her husband needed swift retribution for beer thrown her way at a Chicago Cubs game.
In the fifth inning, pitcher Travis Wood took one deep with a man on and one out, giving the Cubs a 2-0 lead. Normally, this would be a moment of celebration for fans in the stands.
Yeah, not so much for these two.
The interesting part—more so than Chicago actually leading in a game—was the sight of a woman dumping her beer on a man's head. According to the video, the man was trying to protect his wife (catch a home run souvenir?) and ended up spilling on her in the process.
It seems the lovely woman has the shortest fuse in the stadium and decides this crime deserves the exact same in return, so she dumps her domestic all over his head.
Thankfully, every last drop was recorded for posterity. We now find the most easygoing man in America, because this husband takes his beer baths like a champ.
Of course, his wife chuckles with the nervous laugh of someone who sobered up and realized that dumping beer on her husband's head was probably a bit of an overreaction.
The Cubs would ultimately lose the game to the New York Mets, 4-3, and one fan went home reeking of beer. In many respects, all seems to be right with the world.
