Senior Bowl 2013: Roster, Weigh-in Results and TV Schedule

Tim DanielsJun 7, 2018

The Senior Bowl is a major stop on the path to the 2013 NFL draft. While top prospect Geno Smith decided against making an appearance at the marquee event, there are no shortage of talented players hoping to improve their stock in Mobile.

Scouts get to see the seniors perform in practices and then Saturday's game, but they also get an idea of how the college standouts handle pressure.

The next couple months are crucial for their football careers, and it's at these type of showcases that separate those who can handle the heat from those who can't.

Game Preview

All eyes will be on the quarterbacks. Since Geno Smith decided not to participate and no quarterback has claimed the No. 1 spot like in past years, it's a critical game for the six QBs. They can make a big jump with a great performance.

Elsewhere on the North roster, keep an eye on Oregon running back Kenjon Barner. He doesn't have ideal size and probably won't be an every-down back at the next level, but he's a playmaker that could attract serious attention for a niche role.

Michigan star Denard Robinson is also trying his hand as a wide receiver. Give the versatile Wolverine credit for acknowledging his hopes of being a QB were slim and trying to prove his worth to teams in other ways.

On defense, the North features intriguing prospects in Texas defensive end Alex Okafor and USC safety TJ McDonald. Okafor is currently a fringe first-round prospect and McDonald is a middle-round sleeper, but that could change with a good showing.

As for the South side, there are a couple of wide receivers to watch out for. Baylor's Terrance Williams put up monster numbers and is out to prove it wasn't simply due to the system. Louisiana Tech's Quinton Patton is one of this year's potential small-school studs.

The South's potential sleeper is Tennessee tight end Mychal Rivera. He made major strides over his final three seasons with the Volunteers, and, while he's still a work in progress, he's the type of developmental pick that could really pay off down the line.

Defensively, the South is led by massive Georgia defensive lineman John Jenkins. He's going to make sure the North's offensive line gets challenged because he can be downright dominant. Other players to watch include inside linebacker Nico Johnson and safety Robert Lester.
