Entering Week 11 of this 2012-13 NFL season, the fantasy football playoffs are right around the corner. While some of the elite NFL teams are struggling to produce wins, there are plenty of surprises throughout the league—just as in fantasy football.
A lot of young talent has seemingly come out of nowhere with their high level of fantasy contributions, such as Jacquizz Rodgers of the Atlanta Falcons, while some stars are still struggling and just can't find their game, like Vernon Davis.
Running backs play a crucial role on every fantasy roster. This season some have suffered injuries and others just can't find a way to be productive, so it's been extremely tough to find a consistent RB duo that you can count on.
If you are still experiencing difficulties finding replacements for your struggling running backs, the following three players show tremendous upside for the remainder of the season.
Chris Ivory, New Orleans Saints - Owned by 29% of Yahoo! Fantasy Owners
Chris Ivory finally made some noise after a lengthy eight-week wait, as he has been outstanding in his two games played this season. Over the past two weeks Ivory has been a solid fantasy threat, scoring 11.00 Yahoo! points against the Philadelphia Eagles and 14.50 fantasy points versus the Atlanta Falcons.
This week Ivory and his fellow Saints take on the 3-6 Oakland Raiders. Ivory should see a majority of the carries for New Orleans and should have quite a performance. The Raiders currently sport the 21st overall rushing defense, allowing a total of 119.0 YPG. On only 17 rushing attempts this season, Ivory has earned a total of 120 yards and two touchdowns.
The third-year back out of Tiffin University has been outstanding in the short period of time he has played, and it won't likely stop in Week 11. Although the Saints have a ton of talented running backs on their roster, Ivory is still definitely worth the pickup.
Jacquizz Rodgers, Atlanta Falcons - Owned by 43% of Yahoo! Fantasy Owners
What makes Jacquizz Rodgers a solid fantasy option is his effectiveness receiving the football. Rodgers will not blow you away with points; however, in four of the last six weeks he has recorded at least five fantasy points per game. He is consistent and will only improve as the season progresses.
For Week 11 the opponent is the Arizona Cardinals, and you can expect Rodgers to take advantage of that. The Cardinals have the 24th overall rushing defense, giving up an average of 126.1 yards per game.
With only one game over 12 fantasy points this season, Rodgers will have his best performance this week and most likely produce one of the most efficient outings of any running back. If Chris Ivory isn't available in your fantasy league, add Jacquizz Rodgers immediately.
Danny Woodhead, New England Patriots - Owned by 48% of Yahoo! Fantasy Owners
After an incredible performance in Week 10, you can expect the fantasy value of Danny Woodhead to continually rise. Woodhead didn't see many touches against the Bills, but he made the very most of them, scoring two touchdowns and earning 18.10 fantasy points.
In Week 11 Woodhead and the Patriots take on the Indianapolis Colts at home in a battle of teams that are 6-3. The game should be an exciting one, and Woodhead's performance will be exhilarating to watch. The majority of his contributions will come from receptions, and his odds of finding the end zone are good. If Ivory and Rodgers are unavailable, then Danny Woodhead is the your guy.
