Cleveland Browns vs. Indianapolis Colts: Live Score, Highlights and Analysis
The Indianapolis Colts improved to .500 with a 17-13 win over the Cleveland Browns. The Colts' differential was Andrew Luck was he had two touchdowns on the ground to win the battle between rookie quarterbacks.
The Browns had their opportunities but a missed extra point and dropped touchdown pass in the end zone ruined any chance of a victory. Instead, the Browns dropped their 11th straight road game and moved to 1-6 on the season.
The Colts kept their playoff dreams alive as only two teams entered today with records better than .500.
Luck finished the day 16-for-29 with 186 yards and zero touchdowns or interceptions. His main target today was Reggie Wayne once again as Wayne caught a pass for his 102nd straight regular season game. Wayne finished the day with 73 yards on six receptions.
The Colts also finally got a run game established as they ran for 148 total yards on 37 carries. Vick Ballard led the way with 84 yards on the ground with 20 carries. Delone Carter added 41 yards on his own on 11 carries as the Colts used a two headed monster to beat the Browns.
Cleveland was led by Brandon Weeden who threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns. The loss of Trent Richardson early forced the Browns to go to the air more as his replacement Montario Hardesty only had 28 yards. Richardson finished the day with eight yards of his own.
Weeden hit Greg Little early for a touchdown, but the missed extra point proved to be costly as the team was forced to go for it on fourth down late being down four inside the Colts' zone instead of kicking a field goal to tie it.
The only other Browns score came when Weeden hit Josh Gordon on a 33-yard strike on the first drive of the second half to cut the Colts' lead to one. That was the last time Cleveland lit up the scoreboard.

The Colts will punt the ball to the Browns with just a few seconds left. The Browns have no timeouts and trailing 17-13 so will need a touchdown to end the 10 consecutive road loss streak.

Vick Ballard breaks a tackle behind the line of scrimmage and seals the game for the Colts with a 26 yard run. That leaves the Browns one timeout left and only three downs to stop them.

Brandon Weeden throws it too far behind Cooper as the Colts stop the Browns on fourth and six. They will take over on their own 39. The Browns have two timeouts left though.
TWO MINUTE WARNING
The Browns face fourth down with just less than two minutes to go down four points. If they don't convert the game will be in the Colts' hands.
4:08 left in Fourth Quarter
The Browns will take over with just over four minutes left and only two timeouts to try and march 69 yards to a score to take the lead. A field goal won't help as they trail by four right now.

The Colts once again tried to kill the clock instead of going for a score. A third down rush was stuffed before they could get to the line and the Colts were forced to another three-in-out.
6:38 left in Fourth Quarter
The Browns will punt on fourth down which bodes to be a smart decision. It would have been tough on the road to convert and the field position would have put the Colts in good position for another score.

Josh Gordon drops a sure touchdown in the endzone on 3rd and 1 as Weeden was rocked while throwing it. The Browns waste a timeout to talk it over if they want to go for it or not.

I stand corrected the play wasn't overturned and the Browns take over near mid-field. That was actually was very bad call as every replay showed Luck with the ball when he went to the ground.

The Colts ran playaction on third down near mid-field and the Browns blitz nailed Andrew Luck for a hard sack. While Luck was down the Browns defender appeared to take the ball from Luck as the referees called it a fumble and recovery by Cleveland. The play is under review and I suspect the call will be reversed and the Colts will face fourth down.
It's really clear Luck was already on the ground when the defender ripped the ball from the rookie quarterback while he was already on his back.

The Browns continue to beat themselves with mistake as a Quell Jackson penalty for leading with his head after the play gave the Browns more penalty yards than rushing yards today. That combination will get you beat every game.

The Colts made a great stand on defense and safety Tom Zbikowski made two great plays on second and third down to force the Browns to a third straight punt.

In what looked like both teams could do no wrong in the first half on the offensive side of the ball has made a turn for the worse in the second half. The Colts were the only team to score during the third quarter as they only managed a 38-yard Adam Vinatieri field goal.
Whoever can get another score and some stops on defense in the final quarter will pull out the victory today.

Like the Browns last possession the Colts are forced to punt for their second straight time. It was also their second straight three-and-out. The Colts are struggling to protect Luck now as Cleveland is bringing more pressure.

The Browns are forced to punt for the second straight possession as the Colts force them to a three-in-out.
End of Third Quarter
The Colts are leading 17-13 over the Browns as we enter the final quarter of the game. The scenario would be much different if the Browns could have converted their extra point try on their first touchdown in the second quarter. Instead of just needing a field goal to tie they need a touchdown to take the lead.
That mistake could prove costly in the end as the Colts have that advantage working for them right now.
:40 Left in Third Quarter
The Colts will be forced to punt for the second time today as Luck was sacked on second down and missed Hilton on third down. Cleveland was bringing more pressure on that possession and forced Luck to either scramble into trouble or force quick throws high.

The Colts finally stopped the Browns deep and forced them into a 4th & 11 on their second drive of the second half. It was just the second punt for Cleveland today.
