AL East Race
Boston vs. New York
Top 9: Just three more outs remaining before the conclusion of the long-anticipated end of the season for the Red Sox. Garcia in to pitch the ninth.
Saltalamacchia strikes out to start the ninth. Lavarnway follows that up with a strikeout of his own. Two down.
Ivan De Jesus strikes out looking and there's your ball game.
Yankees win 14-2 to win the AL East and clinch home-field advantage throughout the AL playoffs.

Boston vs. New York
Bottom 8: A slew of changes for the Red Sox. Most importantly, Tazawa is now on the mound. Nava puts out Jones at the warning track that just fell short of another home run for the Yankees. Podesdnik makes a nice catch going straight into the right field wall on a ball hit by Cervelli. Gardner flies out and that's the end of the inning. We head to the ninth inning with the Yankees leading 14-2.

AL East Race
Boston vs. New York
Top 8: A ton of changes for the Yankees, who now look like the Red Sox defensively. Only the Red Sox started their backup players. Valencia flies out to start the inning as Eppley takes over for Kuroda, who threw very well tonight for the Yankees.
Nava hits a double off of Eppley to left-center field. Podsednik strikes out and there are two away. Girardi, who wants to make this game as long as possible for some reason, makes a pitching change. Rapada strikes out Loney and the Red Sox are down to their last three outs.

Miguel Cabrera Triple Crown Tracker
Several sources have confirmed that Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera has officially won the American League Triple Crown. It's the first time since 1967 that it's been won. Congratulations, Miguel Cabrera.

AL East Race
Boston vs. New York
Bottom 7: Breslow is now pitching for Boston and walks Cano on four straight pitches. The bases are now loaded for Swisher, who hits a single through the left side which scores the 13th run of the night for New York. Ellsbury makes a long catch in center off the bat of Teixeira that brings in another run. 14-2 now. Mesa replaces Granderson, meaning he won't tie Cabrera. Mesa grounds out and that's it...for now.

AL East Race
Boston vs. New York
The Yankees have clinched the division and home-field advantage throughout the AL playoffs as the Orioles lose. Ichiro has hit a two-run double in the seventh to make the score 12-2 in favor of the Bronx Bombers.

AL East Race
Orioles vs. Rays
Top 9: B.J. Upton shown with tears coming down his face in the dugout as he's likely to leave the Rays after this season. Peralta in to start the inning and Hardy doubles to right-center field to try and start a rally for the O's. Hardy takes third on a defensive indifference. Davis strikes out and Jones hits a sacrifice fly to center than scores Hardy. Wieters singles to keep the O's' hopes alive. Rodney now coming in to try and finish it off. Thome flies out and that's the game.
The Orioles lose meaning that they will be in the one-game playoff against the Rangers and the Yankees have won the AL East.

AL East Race
Red Sox vs. Yankees
Bottom 7: Chris Carpenter in to start the seventh for the Red Sox and Granderson welcomes him into the game with a solo shot to center field to give the Yankees a 10-2 lead. Ibanez walks and then Martin flies out to center for the first out of the inning. Gardner slaps a single through the right side for a single. Ichiro hits a two-run double to right-center field and it's 12-2.

AL East Race
Red Sox vs. Yankees
Top 7: Kuroda is really tossing a great game tonight. He's been a steal all year long for the Yankees. He gets the first two outs before Ciriaco doubles to center. Iglesias drives home Ciriaco with a single and the score is now 9-2. Ellsbury strikes out and that's the inning.
Orioles vs. Rays
Bottom 8: Upton singles to start the inning and is pinch-ran for in what most likely was his last AB as a member of the Rays. Ayala gets Fuld to ground into a fielder's choice. Showalter than replaces Ayala with Strop to face the hottest hitter in Tampa, Evan Longoria. Unfortunately, Longoria grounds out to third to end the inning. It's now unlikely he gets another shot at his fourth homer of the night.

Miguel Cabrera Triple Crown Tracker
Cabrera has been lifted from the game after what seems like Trout's final AB tonight. That would mean that unless the Angels tie the Mariners, Cabrera would likely win the Triple Crown. Granderson, however, is only two home runs away from him now...

AL East Race
Orioles vs. Rays
Top 8: Davis gets the first two batters to ground out before walking Machado. He strikes out McLouth to end the inning. O's are down to their last three outs.

Bottom 6: Cano stays hot and hits a single through the right side that scores two. Atchison takes a ground ball by Teixeira to the bag himself and that's it for the sixth inning.

AL East Race
Red Sox vs. Yankees
Bottom 6: Yankees fans not happy after Martin gets hit in the elbow by Beato. Jeter singles toward Iglesias at shortstop and the Yankees have two men on and no one out. Ichiro grounds into a fielder's choice and there are runners on the corners. Ichiro then steals second base. A-Rod walks and the bases are juiced. Valentine out to yank Beato in favor of Atchison.
Orioles vs. Rays
Bottom 7: Patton now pitching for the O's and he strikes out Pena to start the bottom of the seventh. Fuld flies out and then Vogt grounds out to end the inning.

AL East Race
Orioles vs. Rays
Top 7: McGee gets Jones to strike out to end the inning. That's it for McGee, though as Davis will come in to pitch. Davis gets the next two batters and we'll head to the bottom of the seventh with the Rays leading 4-0.

AL East Race
Red Sox vs. Yankees
Top 6: Pedroia leads the inning off with a single that Swisher can't come up with and he advances to second base. Nava goes down on a line drive to Cano. Ross grounds out to Jeter for the second out. Loney lines to Swisher and that's the inning.
Orioles vs. Rays
Bottom 6: Rays get one more as they head to the seventh inning. Evan Longoria just loves playing on the last day of the year.

AL East Race
Orioles vs. Rays
Bottom 6: Arrieta comes in to pitch for the O's and strikes out Zobrist to start the inning. But then it's that man again! Longoria with his third home run of the ballgame!

AL East Race
Red Sox vs. Yankees
Bottom 5: Valentine out to grab Mortensen after walking back-to-back batters following the Cano bomb. Pedro Beato comes in to pitch. He gets Granderson to strike out for the second time tonight. Iglesias ends the inning after a nice play over the mound.
Orioles vs. Rays
Top 6: McGee relieves Hellickson and gets Hardy to fly out to center. He strikes out Davis to end the inning. Close the book on Hellickson.
J. Meric/Getty Images
AL East Race
Orioles vs. Rays
Top 6: Machado draws a walk to start the inning so Hellickson is somewhat human tonight. He then gets McLouth to fly out to Pena at first for the first out of the inning.
That's it for Hellickson as he'll leave with Machado still on first. Very nice start from him tonight in the regular season finale.

AL East Race
Red Sox vs. Yankees
Bottom 5: Mortensen still out there for the fifth. With basically everyone available tonight, why keep throwing him out there? A-Rod lines a one-out double to left field for his first extra-base hit in a very, very long time. And then Cano blasts another bomb. It's 7-1 in favor of the Bronx Bombers.

AL East Race
Orioles vs. Rays
Bottom 5: Tillman tosses a perfect fifth inning, retiring the Rays in order.
Red Sox vs. Yankees
Top 5: A-Rod makes a great play to start the inning, but makes a bad throw on a tough play as Ciriaco reaches. Kuroda gets out of the inning as the Yankees will take at least a four-run lead into the sixth.
Ed Zurga/Getty Images
Miguel Cabrera Triple Crown Tracker
Cabrera is 0-1 tonight. Mike Trout, who is second in the AL in batting average is 1-2 so far. It's still going to take a lot for Miggy to lose the lead.
J. Meric/Getty Images
AL East Race
Red Sox vs. Yankees
Bottom 4: Ibanez leads off the inning with a single off of Mortensen. Martin strikes out after a very long battle. Jeter grounds into a 5-4-3 double play to end the inning.
Orioles vs. Rays
Top 5: Hellickson is really throwing a nice game down at the Trop. He's allowed just one hit through the first five innings as the Rays lead 3-0. Give credit to Sam Fuld for a great catch in foul territory to retire Mark Reynolds. Hellickson also embarrassed Flaherty to end the inning.
