A source tells ESPN's Ed Werder that the Dallas Cowboys have reached out to Tony Romo about a contract extension, adding that preliminary talks have occurred.

I know many of you are thinking it's amazing what one big game can do, but we don't know at this point if the team made this overture before or after the season opener in New Jersey.

If that performance against the Giants caused this to happen, it was only the cherry on top. Jerry Jones called that victory one of the highlights from his 24 years in football, but I still believe he's been prepared for quite a while to commit to Romo beyond 2012 and 2013.

Let's just hope a dog game against Seattle doesn't scare the Cowboys away.

Dallas Cowboys

Or maybe Romo was just waiting in line...behind Sean Lissemore? The young, versatile defensive lineman signed an extension Thursday, according to's Todd Archer.

Philadelphia Eagles

From Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News: Maybe he thinks his team tipped something to the Browns, because Andy Reid is granting the media less access to practices going forward.'s Sheil Kapadia compares LeSean McCoy to Ray Rice. Two of the top young backs in football face off against each other this week.

Washington Redskins

It's been a tough year for Chris Cooley, who's now getting a divorce from his former cheerleader wife, per the Washington Post.
