Top 80 RB's: 2012 PPR Fantasy Football Rankings (Updated 8/11)
He's Back!!!
Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE
Two days of preseason action in the books and we already have major movement both up and down to report. After sitting down and watching game action, one running back stood out to me as an option we need to consider as an early RB2 in PPR leagues.
Peyton Hillis Impressive Vs. Cardinals
Maybe it’s just a match made in heaven but for whatever reason offensive coordinator Brian Daboll maximizes Hillis’s skill set to the fullest. When Daboll was in Cleveland, Hillis enjoyed a breakout season that launched his popularity all the way to the cover of Madden.
Perhaps we should blame last year's lackluster performance more on the loss of Daboll than on the Madden curse, but it appears the spell has been broken as they reunited in Kansas City this offseason.
Hillis has had a solid camp and his play against the Cardinals jumps out at me on film. Daboll did a good job of using both Hillis and Dexter McCluster in the passing game, both having big plays early on.
Impressive for sure, but it was Hillis’s take-no-prisoners running style that proved to me he was back and ready for a big year.
The Chiefs have been building up the offensive line in recent years, stock piling talent, and it’s starting to show. Hillis was through to the second level consistently and defenders bounced right off of him as he continued to run full steam ahead like a Mack truck going downhill.
We should anticipate a big year from Hillis. The Chiefs have an easy schedule against the run. I have no problem viewing both Hillis and Charles as top fifteen options in PPR leagues this summer.
