Beltran speaks out , Mets watch A-Rod Fiasco

About 15 Mets, including newly acquired J.J. Putz and Francisco Rodriguez on looked the Alex Rodriguez Press conference while Carlos Beltran was talking about A-Rod, Cole Hamels, the Batting lineup.

Beltran's comments about A-Rod were brief and to the point saying, “he’s paying the consequence of making bad choices.”

Carlos Beltran had some more choice words about the 2008 World Series Champion Phillies and Cole Hamels, after Hamels was quoted on WFAN saying that the Mets were "Choke Artist."

“The only thing that I know is that he will be watched every time he faces us and hopefully we kill him,” Beltrán said. “And then he’ll have to deal with the situation.”

Speaking of championships, Beltran who is in the fifth year of a $119 Million dollar contract said he was shocked at the fact that he has not played in a World Series for the Mets. He understands why Jerry Manuel would try something different with the lineup.

Manuel was quoted earlier in the week by saying that he thinks he might move Jose Reyes to the 3rd slot and moving Luis Castillo to the lead off slot in the lineup to get him going, he also said he might try to bump Beltran to the 2ND slot. Beltran who spent most of his Mets' career batting 3rd and cleanup says he don't care what part of the lineup he is in, but if it is not working something must change..
