Brett Favre and Peter Forsberg: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

Alright, sports fans. This is getting out of hand. If this was MTV's Boiling Point, I'd already be punching Brett Favre and Peter Forsberg in the face with Antonio Margarito's boxing gloves.

I don't know what the sportsbook odds are on either Favre or Forsberg returning to play in their respective sports again, but quite frankly, I don't care, and I don't want to hear about it any more.

Every single offseason, Favre's will I or won't I dramas cause more tension than Katt Williams at an old folk's home.

And Peter Forsberg is the exact same. Is he going to come back? Is he healthy enough to play? Is he going to play in the NHL? Is he going to play in Sweden?

Honestly, a four-year-old with $200 at Toys 'R Us is more decisive than these guys.

For argument's sake, I'll set the sportsbook lines for these guys.

Will Brett Favre play for the Jets in 2009?

Yes: -130

No: +110

You'll notice the odds are tight. I know Peter King has reported that Favre has had enough, but he's Brett Favre: He's always had enough right after the season. Cue the crying footage from last offseason. As time wears on, he'll change his mind. That's why 'yes' is favored.

Will Peter Forsberg play in the NHL in 2009?

Yes: +150

No: -200

Forsberg has got to be tapped out at this point. He was mediocre in his "triumphant" return to the Colorado Avalanche last year and I think a lot of teams in the NHL just don't want to waste a lot of money on a guy who just isn't who he used to be. If he plays, he'll play in Sweden, which is why my sportsbook odds favor no.
