Hathaway's report indicates that the Rams have chosen to keep the details of their counteroffer private, at least for now. ย

The Rams and the CVC have both indicated in the past that keeping the negotiations as private as possible is the best way to go about reaching an agreement. ย

With the proposal out of the public eye, it will theoretically allow both the Rams and the CVC to focus on the issues at hand rather than discussions from the public and other potential distractions.ย

For more on the Rams counteroffer, please see this from Amir Kurtovic of the St. Louis Business Journal.ย

Aggressive Approach To Draft Lays Strong Foundation for St. Louisย

Senior Writer Nick Wagoner of stlouisrams.com shares a terrific piece regarding the Rams 2012 draft.ย

In this piece, Wagoner asserts that the aggressive nature that St. Louis utilized enabled the franchise to lay a firm foundation going forward. ย

Wagoner quotes head coach Jeff Fisher regarding the team's approach to the aforementioned draft:ย

"

Weโ€™re not necessarily taking chances. I look at it more from the standpoint that weโ€™re going to be aggressive. This team has lost more games in five years than any team in franchise history. Weโ€™re going to put a stop to that. In order to do that, youโ€™ve got to go fill some holes, and you have to be aggressive with that.

Is Janoris Jenkins On His Way to More Trouble?ย

In another pessimistic article from Alvin Reid related to the Rams (this time for 101sports.com) Reid asserts that second round rookie Janoris Jenkins is likely not done getting in trouble.ย

Reid suggests that Jenkins pattern of mistakes will continue with St. Louis as he cites some of his past troubles as indicators that his overall pattern of behavior is perhaps unlikely to change.

Reviewing What St. Louis Received by Trading the No. 2 Pickย

Mike Sando of ESPN did a nice job in analyzing what the Rams got after trading the No. 2 pick to the Washington Redskins, which ultimately was used to grab former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III of Baylor.ย

In this piece, Sando breaks it all down and seems convinced that St. Louis did a nice job in optimizing their return after moving the aforementioned pick.ย

Brian Quick was Rams' Second-Rated Receiver Prospect

According to this submission by Jim Thomas for stltoday.com, the St. Louis Rams had Brian Quick as their second-rated wide receiver prospect, behind only Justin Blackmon.ย

The above-linked Thomas article looks at other draft picks, too, as well as other draft-related topics.ย

St. Louis Draft Looks Good On Paperย

Former NFL executive and current contributor for 101sports.com Tony Softli explains why he believes the Rams draft looks good on paper in this piece.ย

Softli offers some very interesting insight in this piece and takes a look at each draft pick as well as the approach that St. Louis took in navigating through last week's draft.ย

Rams Cut Five Players to Make Room For a Slew of Undrafted Rookies

As shared in a report from Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have cut five players to make room for all of their draft picks and 23 undrafted rookie free agents.ย

As reported in the above-linked piece, Rams general manager Les Snead says that 16 percent of NFL starters entered the league as undrafted players.ย

According to the math, the Rams have a good chance of finding several starters after adding 23 rookie free agents.ย
