The words you're about to read in the next break will more than likely not shock you, but it will to a majority of people who still don't believe it.
Robert Griffin III is, indeed, black. The shocking news of the day comes out.
And in one week's time, RG3 will more than likely become the new franchise centerpiece for the Washington Redskins when Dan Snyder and company select the reigning Heisman Trophy winner with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft next Thursday.
His skill set is impossible to not admire. He has blazing speed, possibly even quicker than Michael Vick. The arm strength he presents is outstanding for someone of his stature, perhaps that resembling of Cam Newton. He even completes passes at a great rate, possibly resembling Warren Moon.
He's bound to be the next great black quarterback. I fully believe he will...Wait a minute, why are we comparing RG3 to just black quarterbacks?
Oh, now I get it. Because all the other "scouts" are doing the same thing, so it's only fair that we all get to do that, right?
Give me a break.
Just in case you were having a hard time figuring it out, I've been sarcastic for a good majority of what you've read so far. Hopefully from reading all the comparisons I made about RG3, you would like to think I'm one amazing scout myself.
And if you thought that was the worst scouting report you've ever read, then I've come to the conclusion that I know that I'm just as credible as the two cracker-jack scouts interviewed by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel who gave their own two cents regarding Griffin III.
Everybody is just assuming because of the Heisman and the socks and all that bs...They are ignoring a lot of bad tape that he's had. I don't think he has vision or pocket feel, which to me are the two most important components of quarterbacking. He's just running around winging it. He's [Michael] Vick, but not as good a thrower.
And then for the second "scout."
He has better arm action and is more accurate with his deep ball, but he's not as good as Cam Newton. As much as is written about his athleticism, his athleticism under duress in the pocket isn't even close to Cam Newton's. This guy, the only way he gets big plays with his feet is if he's got a wide-open field and the sea opens for him. He's got a little bit of a selfish streak, too. Everybody was laying that on Cam, but for some reason this guy has become gloves off. He doesn't treat anybody good.
We've now hit a crossroads into where do we lead into next, after reading that blasphemy that is clearly filled with no intelligence what so ever. This could turn into something as to why those cronies are wrong in every way, but then I'd actually become a scout, and I'd never want to stoop to their level.
But now you see where the Vick and Newton references came from earlier, and this has been going on for the longest time, even before most of us were alive.
If this isn't about race, then why are the only two quarterbacks that are being compared to RG3 are one of the fastest quarterbacks ever and one of the strongest quarterbacks we've ever seen?
I assure you, it has nothing to do with their intangibles.
For some reason, the NFL has already prepared a certain mold for all of the positions on the field for every player that gets drafted.
For years, it's always been black men who are the running backs, wide receivers, defensive backs and outside pass rushers for teams because of their athleticism and speed. And for years, no one has ever questioned any of that until guys like Wes Welker emerged to who he is today, and guys like Jared Allen (a fourth-round pick) fight their way to where they are.
But why is it always black men who play quarterback are labeled to a certain way of play? Who was the one guy that almost everyone in America compared Andrew Luck to? John Elway.
Who are the guys that Robert Griffin III is being compared to? Michael Vick and Cam Newton.
Is there anything wrong with comparing RG3 to a guy like Aaron Rodgers? No, but you would be looked at in a weird light if you did that.
Just for fun, I'll use an example from scout number one, where he said, "He's just running around winging it. He's [Michael] Vick, but not as good a thrower."
Do you think race is still an issue in some aspects in the NFL?
This man is literally comparing RG3's skill set, which is miles far and beyond those of Vick when he was drafted out of Virginia Tech over a decade ago, to the man who couldn't create a consistent throwing style until he got to Philadelphia.
Did he even bother to look at, maybe, another quarterback? Maybe one of white color? No, because society in the sports world has become too quick to judge someone because of the color of their skin, and it's becoming more and more ridiculous as more talented athletes enter the world of professional sports. The NFL has been the prime example of that for many years.
If we are truly a nation that's created equal, then why can't black athletes be treated the same as a white man who plays the same position as them? The mold has been set, and it's examples like this that show that this mold is impossible to break when common sense is not utilized.
Not to mention it shows how stupid people really are.
This is coming from a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan: I hope that Robert Griffin III succeeds in Washington in everything he does. I hope he wins MVP trophies, makes Pro Bowls, and even wins a couple of Super Bowls when all is said and done.
And the only reason is because he would be one of a possible many who would shut up these "scouts."
