Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

Baltimore Ravens' defender extraordinaire has been rewarded for another stellar season by capturing the AP's Defensive Player of the Year Award.

CBS Sports' Will Brinson tweeted the news.

Suggs, 29, set a career high with 14 sacks and seven forced fumbles this season. The 14 sacks were fifth in the NFL, and the seven forced fumbles led the league.

The impact this dynamic player makes cannot solely be measured by his stats, either. Suggs is a disruptive force on every snap.

He causes numerous holding penalties and false starts in linemen who are desperate to try to find any way to contain him.

He is also always the focus of a team's blocking schemes. This opens up things for his teammates, and despite the extra attention he still finds a way to succeed.

Suggs is a true game changer. To go with his sacks and forced fumbles, he also managed to haul in two INTs.

Take a look at some of the amazing highlight Suggs created this season.

This year's defensive MVP was well deserved. He is a true impact player for one of the league's best units. The Ravens finished fourth overall in pass defense and second in rush defense.
