Deion Sanders' divorce from his wife, Pilar, has been far from graceful, and it's taking yet another turn for the ugly.
TMZ reports that Pilar Sanders has filed an emergency motion in a Texas courtroom in hopes that a judge will force Deion Sanders to pay her money she alleges she is owed.
Pilar alleges that the former NFL superstar, turned NFL Network analyst, has cut off both her, and the children they share. Those are some serious and grave allegations when you consider that kids are involved, but things get even more serious from Pilar's standpoint.
The report cites courtroom documents that state:
Since [Deion] filed for divorce on December 21, 2011, he has given [Pilar] $300.00 and offered her money in exchange for sexual favors.
Either somebody is lying, or somebody has a sick sense of what is right and wrong in this world. This divorce has been a mess since day one, and this just serves to further an awful case of "he said, she said" that we may never get to the bottom of.
Incidentally, Pilar states that she did not take the money that was offered for favors, and goes on to make further accusations per court documents TMZ uncovered:
The children and I have lived in survival mode for several months, and the emotional toll on all of us is palpable.
She also claims that her cell phone has been shut off, and her belongings removed and put into storage. Pilar claims that Sanders is still making in excess of $1 million a year, and she wants her cut.
We can't forget to look at the other side of the argument, which is just as brash as Pilar's. In late December, and on the heels of the looming divorce, Sanders' daughter from another relationship called out Pilar with a venomous Twitter attack.
Whose side are you on?
As TMZ reported on December 28th, Deiondra Sanders slammed Pilar for being a liar, and among other things, an attention seeker.
To hear Deiondra tell it, Pilar was only ever interested in Sanders' name and money.
The dirty laundry of one of the greatest to play the game is getting thrown out for the nation to observe. If Sanders did indeed withhold money for sex, that action would be deplorable.
If Pilar is exaggerating the facts or outright lying, she is just as culpable as a horrible human being. The one thing that is certain is this: The end of what was a tumultuous marriage is proving to be far more volatile.
