Super Bowl 2012: Wal-Mart Makes Hilarious Gaffe in Pretty Display

Sometimes something comes along that just makes you wonder, "How did that happen?" This is one of those times, and then some. 

Evidently, some poor Wal-Mart employee didn't get the memo on Sunday night that the Giants won the NFC Championship Game. Maybe he thinks that football is a three quarter game, which would have had the 49ers win. Maybe he thinks a game that's tied at the end of four quarters goes to the home team, instead of overtime. 

Whatever happened, we have a drastic and hilarious failure to communicate, thankfully one that was captured by Matt Plendl, who tweeted it on to CNBC's Darren Rovell.

Man, even when the Giants win, they don't get credit for it. I am a 49ers' fan and still seething over the loss, but what do Eli Manning and his team need to do to get some love?

But let's not just look at the poor sap who put this display together. Take another look at that thing. Something like this takes time and effort. He didn't just grab a few cases of soda, put it together with the team's logos on it and walk away. 

Did this guy have the store all to himself or something? In the whole time it took him to do this, not one person walked by and said, "Hey dude, the Giants won the game. Go grab some cases of regular Pepsi."

All this poor guy needed was one good Samaritan to walk by and tell him what happened and this whole crisis could have been averted. 

There is no possible way that this should ever happen. Yes, we're all human and make the occasional mistake, but this is epic, and not just on one person. Any one of this store's employees could have noticed this mistake at the first sign of a gold case. 

Instead we've been treated to one of the funniest gaffes imaginable. I would say that this is bulletin board material, but if they're human, they are laughing way too hard at this thing to get fired up.
