2012 NFL Mock Draft: Latest Stock Watch for College Football's Top WRs
The 2012 draft class is loaded with early round receiver prospects that will make an instant impact on Sundays next season.
They're big, experienced and can physically overpower the cornerbacks who cover them.
Where are the draft stocks of the top-four pass catchers after another wild weekend in college football?
4. Nick Toon
1 of 5Toon isn't as decorated as some of the other receivers in college football and may not get the publicity of a Justin Blackmon or Michael Floyd, but with his sustained production in Madison and his 6'3'', 220-pound frame, he's a guy I want on my team.
He was held in check in the Badgers' two losses, but since those devastating defeats, he's come up rather large with 167 yards and two touchdowns.
Stock Up
3. Michael Floyd
2 of 5I'm still placing Floyd behind South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery, but he's closing the gap considerably.
Another huge target, (6'3'', 225) Floyd has been the life force of the Notre Dame offense this season.
The Fighting Irish are winners of eight of their last nine, and Floyd has 19 grabs for 182 yards and a score in his last two outings.
After a 79-catch, 1,025-yard season a year ago, he's come back to catch 87 passes for 1,014 yards in 2011.
Stock Up
2. Alshon Jeffery
3 of 5The Gamecocks are having a very respectful season, but they're being overshadowed by the rest of the SEC.
Jeffery is the victim of the team's current run-first offense, and his five-catch effort against The Citadel this week was the most grabs he's had since October 15th in a win over Mississippi State.
With his size, (6'4'', 230) and NBA-like leaping ability he'll still be a top-15 selection, but the fact that his numbers are down dramatically this season, his stock is certainly dropping.
Stock Down
1. Justin Blackmon
4 of 5Wow.
I still can't believe Oklahoma State lost to Iowa State.
Though the loss all but dashes the Cowboys' national title hopes, Justin Blackmon is still the consensus top receiver in the 2012 draft class.
He had 10 catches for 99 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
At 6'1'', 215 pounds, he's got good enough size to become a consistent chain mover at the next level and possesses enough speed and elusiveness to become a downfield threat and yards-after-the-catch guy in the NFL.
