Tottenham Hotspur: Deal Finalized to Bring Manchester City's Emmanuel Adebayor

It's official: Emmanuel Adebayor will be playing for Tottenham Hotspur in 2011-12.

After weeks of rumors and speculation, an announcement on the Tottenham Hotspur team website confirmed that the reported deal to bring Adebayor to White Hart Lane on a season-long loan has been finalized after the Togolese striker passed a medical exam with Tottenham earlier this week.

Spurs have been in dire need of a goal-scoring presence on their squad, after failing to capitalize on any opportunities last weekend at Old Trafford and enduring less-than-ideal numbers from their forwards during the last campaign.

"We are delighted to announce the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor on a season-long loan from Manchester City," read the official announcement, posted shortly prior to Spurs' Europa League clash with Hearts.

Adebayor is not likely to appear for Spurs in Sunday's match against Manchester City, but his first game in a Spurs uniform will probably come on September 10th on the road against Wolverhampton.

Could the move be the signing that Spurs fans have been waiting for all summer, the one that could finally see them finding the back of the net and winning matches once again?
