NFL- 32 Bold Predictions For The 2008 Season

Samuel Bell JrAug 8, 2008

Football is in the air, as we prepare for the start of 4 weeks of pointless preseason games to tickle our NFL funny-bones.

We get teasers of games, with starters usually not playing more than a couple of drives before being replaced by the second and third stringers, fighting for positions on the team.

I always get annoyed, screaming, "why can't the d@mn season start already!"

Nevertheless, here we are, in week one of preseason, watching basically every starting QB look great in the first quarter (unless you're Eli Manning).

We've already saw Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Jason Taylor and Jeremy Shockey miss preseason action, and hopefully that trend stops soon so we can see our favorite stars in action before September.

Guys like Robert Meachem and the ageless David Patten make pleas for Fantasy Drafts, and we all wonder who will be the talk of the upcoming NFL season.

With all of the story lines coming into this season (does the name Brett Favre ring a bell?) it's hard to decipher what players and teams will wow us and breakthrough to be the next New York Giants (it won't be them).

To your rescue is Samuel Bell Jr., an intelligent, football fanatic who enjoys to make predictions, and after writing this article I'm going to play the lottery because I feel lucky. (Lancer Evolution, here I come!)

These predictions are BOLD, and I take responsibility for every one. Comments, refutations, I want 'em all.

I will make 32 predictions of what will happen this season, and after the season is over I'll revisit this article and see what I have right, and also what I screwed up on. I won't explain my picks, but I'll explain why they failed later for the ones that do.

I can't wait to be right. (If I don't endorse my predictions, who will?)
