2012 NFL Mock Draft: Robert Griffin III and Prospects with Major Potential
The 2012 NFL draft class has a ridiculous amount of talented athletes with limitless potential.
Yes, more so than recent draft classes.
Robert Griffin III enters the league as the reigning Heisman Trophy winner who has the ability to truly transcend the quarterback position.
There are a few other players who will make an instant impact in the NFL and are on the road to stardom.
Let's take a look.
Robert Griffin III
1 of 4While Andrew Luck is said to be the best quarterback prospect to enter the NFL draft in a decade, Robert Griffin III's skill set makes him quite the prospect, too.
There's no telling how amazing this kid can be at the pro ranks.
He's a deadly accurate thrower of the football, especially down field and has developed into a magnificent leader while at Baylor, leading them to a 9-3 record this season with wins over Oklahoma and Texas.
Not to mention, he's got Olympic speed, is tremendously elusive and graduated from college early.
What's not to like?
I see a hybrid between Cam Newton and Michael Vick in RG3.
Actually, he's more polished as a passer than both of those guys were before being drafted, and it's not even close.
Justin Blackmon
2 of 4Blackmon has won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver the last two seasons and he's about as ready as you can be to enter the NFL.
While he's only 6'1'', his 215-pound frame is chiseled and he plays without fear of going over the middle or absorbing the big hit.
In fact, he's usually just as physical as the defenders that try to cover him.
He has the experience and body to come in and be a solid possession receiver with outstanding yards-after-the-catch ability.
The sky is the limit for Blackmon.
David DeCastro
3 of 4Like his teammate Andrew Luck, David DeCastro is the best prospect at his position in quite some time.
The All-American guard is the total package and could easily become one of the most dominating players in this year's class.
At 6'5'', 310-pounds DeCastro is massive but plays with incredibly quick feet and a Luck-esque football IQ.
He's not only a technician, however.
He can simply maul defensive linemen and linebackers when he gets to the second level because of his premier strength.
Whichever team drafts DeCastro will instantly be a better running club and their quarterback will also be extremely thankful.
