2012 NFL Mock Draft: Checking in on College Football's Top QBs
The 2012 NFL draft class has a variety of intriguing quarterback prospects.
Andrew Luck is the most complete signal caller to come out of college in over a decade. Robert Griffin III has some Michael Vick and Cam Newton in him.
Can't forget about Landry Jones, either.
Let's check in with these guys.
Andrew Luck
Individually, Luck is still having a magnificent season. But his worst game of the year came in Stanford's recent 53-30 loss to Oregon at home.
He threw for 256 yards and had three touchdowns. But he had 15 incompletions and tossed two picks.
The defeat dashes the team's National Championship hopes, but Luck could still wrap up the Heisman Trophy with a strong end to the season, something I fully expect him to do.
Oh, Phil Simms, Luck made a handful of "NFL" throws on Saturday.
He's still the complete package.
Brandon Weeden
Weeden is 28, so I'm not sure when an NFL team will draft him next year, but he certainly is piecing together an epic season for the Cowboys in Stillwater.
Can't ignore him.
He has 31 touchdowns and nine interceptions and is completing nearly 74 percent of his passes.
Having Justin Blackmon has unquestionably helped.
The guy threw for 502 yards against Kansas State two weeks ago and had five touchdowns with no interceptions last week against Texas Tech in a 66-6 rout.
Oklahoma State is in National Championship contention, and their quarterback is taking full advantage of the lackluster secondaries in the Big 12.
Robert Griffin III
One of the country's most dynamic players, Griffin III hasn't slowed down after his Baylor team was dismantled by Oklahoma State a few weeks ago.
Since that embarrassment, the Bears have won both games in dramatic fashion, and Griffin III has six touchdown passes and only one interception.
He has 34 total touchdowns and only five picks and is completing 74 percent of his passes.
A freakish athletic with great pocket presence and accuracy, Griffin III represents the new-era of quarterbacks.
Landry Jones
Jones has seven touchdowns and only two interceptions in his last two games, but only completed 47 percent of his passes in a win over Texas A&M last week.
His favorite target, Ryan Broyles is done for the year with a severe knee injury so it'll be interesting to see how Jones fares in the Sooners' final two regular season games against Baylor and Oklahoma State in the Bedlam series.
He's got 28 touchdowns an nine interceptions on the year.
Not bad.
