What Should LBJ Do Next? 👑

LeBron James Denied in Cleveland, but Will He Be Triumphant with Dwyane Wade?

LeBron James quit once. Will he quit again?

The naysayers who feel as if he put his best foot forward are sadly mistaken, as they wish to look upon the regular seasoned King to calculate a well written argument.

Unfortunately, 18-of-53 shooting does not classify as a superstar carrying his team to victory.

Did he quit because he knew that his moments in Cleveland were coming to a crushing end? No.

The misjudgment that his poor performances were the result of premeditated efforts is ill obtained. James subconsciously let the emotions stemming from putting an entire roster of grown men on his back affect the way he viewed the series.

Believing and doing are two entirely separate entities and he should not be held accountable for his interpretation of a leader when his supporting troops could not sense his angst and create an offense of their own.

LeBron left to play alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh because he understood that he could not win alone. The killing piece of that notion is that many fans and active players do not understand how crucial the supporting cast has been the entire slew of hall of famers we admire today.

Now, he faces the Boston Celtics again with a different jersey and a different band of brothers creeping towards the second round.

There are some problems with the fairy tale ending some Miami fans may try to project. James is competing with an entirely lacking bench, unlike the issue he faced in Cleveland.

The Cavaliers may not have been offensively and defensively prone without his creativity and power, but there was an occasional moment where sparks of life flew from the men sitting on the sidelines.

He, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have accounted for a majority of the team’s point accumulation the entire season and there have been no avid bench contributors in said time.

Undoubtedly the worst bench depth in the league, Miami will have to find a way to exploit the minute gaps in Boston’s well crafted defense in order to win a game or two, let alone the entire series.

There was a glimpse of hope peering through the clouds of the Eastern Conference postseason, as the Chicago Bulls struggled to finish off the Indiana Pacers and Boston was seemingly faltering from the chemistry that the preseason critics and cheerleaders praised them for.

Then both teams woke up to realize how elite and qualified they were by closing the last game of their series with blowouts.

Then comes Miami. LeBron made a comment to the media saying that the game against Philadelphia was simply finishing breakfast.

As if the statement could not have come at a worse time, his team had an embarrassing start against a team that is not as athletic, lengthy or talented as them.

Just as it appeared that Miami would have to choke on those words, Mario Chalmers accelerated his perimeter accuracy with six three-pointers that sealed the deal and a trip to feud against their regular season rivals.

He said this about his experience with the Boston defense:

"They play me the same way every time, they try to put two on the ball and force me to take jump shots," James said.

"It has been the same way for the last three years."

The scariest thing about his words is that he admits he understands what is coming and from which direction in every game—yet the defensive strategy is still so effective.

If he understands how the Celtics are going to guard him, why doesn’t he configure his assault? Why does his execution seem so strained when we all know how the story will be told?

The only way to retrieve LeBron from embarrassment, each of the players on Miami’s roster must bestow their offensive and defensive grinds for 48 minutes relentlessly.

Either that or LeBron can rip off another jersey as he walks away from the Boston Celtics, defeated once again.
