Kyrie Irving Trade Rumors: Cavaliers 'Disturbed' Star's Trade Request Publicized
The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly aren't thrilled Kyrie Irving's trade request was made public.
On Friday, ESPN.com's Chris Haynes reported the Cavaliers were "disturbed" the news got out since they "fear it could impact trade value."
In a statement to ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski, Irving's agent, Jeff Wechsler, confirmed the point guard met with Cavaliers ownership last week, but he didn't disclose whether his client demanded a trade.

"Kyrie and I had a meeting with Cavs leadership where we discussed many different scenarios in reference to Kyrie and his future with the team," Wechsler said. "The basis of those discussions and what went on in those discussions are between the Cavs and us. We are respectfully going to keep those private."
In other words, the Cavaliers don't want a repeat of what happened with the Indiana Pacers, when they opted to trade Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder for seemingly pennies on the dollar after he informed the team he planned to leave in free agency next summer, per Adrian Wojnarowski for The Vertical.
With two years left on his contract, Irving gave the Cavaliers plenty of notice.
He also provided them with a list of teams he would prefer to land with. According to Haynes, it includes the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves.
But as ESPN.com's Bobby Marks noted, that list may prove irrelevant since Irving doesn't have a no-trade clause—meaning the Cavaliers aren't obligated to make a deal that's in his best interest.
