Nets CEO Says Brooklyn Is Only Place in New York for Playoff Hoops
By the fur of their teeth, the 38-44 Brooklyn Nets beat out the Indiana Pacers and landed the final seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Their reward is a first-round matchup against the top-seeded Atlanta Hawks, and while Brooklyn faces almost certain annihilation, the potential of a massacre at Atlanta's hands isn't going to stop Nets CEO Brett Yormark from basking in the moment a bit.
Yormark sent an email to fans after the team clinched the playoffs. It was a nice message that thanked everyone for their support and just happened to stick a finger in the eye of the New York Knicks.

The New York Post's Tim Bontemps spotted Yormark's email. The CEO told fans he appreciated their support and pointed out that the Nets are the only basketball team in New York delivering postseason action:
"We want to thank the Brooklyn community and the entire fan base for your unwavering support. You are instrumental in the team's success and have helped us advance to the playoffs each year we've been in the borough. Brooklyn is the only place to catch playoff basketball in New York, and we are excited to see you at Barclays Center.
"
Ah, yes—nothing says "enjoy this" and "we made it" like reminding your supporters they could be Knicks fans.
As I've mentioned before, laughing at the Knicks' ineptitude is almost impossible these days. Almost.
Dan is on Twitter. Stop kicking them. The Knicks are already dead.
