Angel Reese Breaks 2 WNBA Records, Final Box Score Stats, Highlights as Dream Beat Brink, Sparks

Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream remain red hot after she broke two WNBA records to lead the team to a 78-71 win over the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Dream, who were favored by 10.5 points at FanDuel, faced a much bigger test than their last matchup with the Sparks on Aug. 20 that they won by 36 points.

Reese helped them hold off Los Angeles by recording a WNBA single-game record 26 rebounds. She also set a single-season record in total rebounds during the game at 458 with six games remaining in the regular season.

Angel Reese vs. LA Sparks

Reese broke the single-season record for total rebounds with 6:17 remaining in the fourth quarter when she grabbed an offensive board off a missed layup. She passed A'ja Wilson's record of 451 set in 2024.

The 26 total rebounds in a game broke the record that had stood for 23 years. Chamique Holdsclaw had held the single-game mark of 24 rebounds since May 23, 2003.

"That's a talent," Dream guard Allisha Gray said of Reese after the win. "I'm just in awe watching her rebound."

This marks the second consecutive game against the Sparks in which Reese has made WNBA history. Her previous outing four days ago saw her become the first player to have at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals without missing a shot.

Reese has led the Dream (25-13) to four consecutive wins and six victories in their last seven games. They remain in the No. 4 spot in the playoff race, just one-half game behind the Las Vegas Aces for the three seed.

Atlanta is off until Friday when it will host the Connecticut Sun before the WNBA takes a three-week break for the FIBA World Cup.
