Stoke vs. Arsenal: Mark Hughes and Arsene Wenger Post-Match Reaction
Arsene Wenger took a shot at Chelsea and the media following Arsenal's 3-2 loss at the hands of Stoke City, telling reporters they must be "disappointed" the Blues won't be going undefeated throughout the 2014-15 Premier League season.
The Independent's Miguel Delaney shared the manager's comments:

The Blues lost their first match of the season earlier on Saturday, at Newcastle United, before the Gunners played one of the worst halves of their season, conceding three goals in the first half against the Potters.
Arsenal fought back and brought the deficit to one goal through Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey, but a red card for Calum Chambers complicated the comeback attempt, which ultimately fell short.
When asked how his team gave up three goals in a single half of football, the manager had no answer, as shared by the Premier League's official Twitter feed:
He later credited Stoke for their excellent start, and blamed the lack of experience along his back four, according to the club's official Twitter feed:
Reporters noticed Wenger never left the bench or paced the technical area, and when asked about his behaviour on the sidelines on Saturday, he claimed it had to do with the reception he'd receive from the home crowd, via Delaney:
Chambers' second yellow card that led to the dismissal was seen by some fans as soft, and Wenger agreed with that assessment:
The Frenchman's post-match press conference was relatively short, and he never gave journalists the opportunity to ask any questions regarding his future.
Stoke's Mark Hughes was obviously in better spirits, grabbing a huge scalp on Saturday to end a three-match losing streak. He believed his team was "outstanding," per the league's Twitter feed:
As reported by the team's official website, he even took things one step further:
"The first half was excellent to be perfectly honest, and was probably the best 45 minutes that we have played during my time here at the Club.
I thought we executed our game plan to absolute perfection. We talked about getting the ball into the box with better quality and we managed to do that to quite devastating effect at times.
That was incredibly satisfying from my point of view because we have worked on that a lot in training, so to see it come off in match play is hugely encouraging.
Being 3-0 up at half-time isn’t something that occurs too often in the Premier League, so it is quite an unusual situation to be in, especially against a team like Arsenal.
We were conscious of the scars we have from what happened against West Ham several weeks ago, and thankfully we managed to learn from that and see this one through, despite one or two things conspiring against us in the second half.
"
The question marks surrounding Wenger's tenure at the club will only increase following an upset loss against the team which had lost its last three fixtures, as the Gunners looked subpar throughout most of the afternoon.
Stoke put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone and find themselves in a comfortable position heading into the holiday season.
