FIFA 13 Ultimate Team: Serie A Team of the Season Cards Revealed

Nick AkermanMay 29, 2013

It's that time of the week again where EA Sports reveal their next Team of the Season cards. This week focuses on the hard work of Serie A's top players, rewarding those who posted an excellent campaign with a lovely blue variation.

Following on from the Most Consistent, Premier League and Bundesliga Team of the Season selections is an arrangement of cards that celebrates the best players from Italy's top division.

This is the fifth Team of the Season reveal from a total of eight, the rest of which will arrive across the coming weeks. These card variations represent the best overall statistical performances of each individual included in Ultimate Team, meaning they're likely to be rather costly. All will enter packs at 1 p.m. ET on May 29.

Has your favourite Serie A player been included? Read on to find out.

Analysis

2 of 2

EA Sports' Serie A selection is an interesting one for players who prefer a technical game.

We've seen plenty of power and pace across previously released Team of the Season selections, so the inclusion of players including Marek HamŠik and Mehdi Benatia provides users with an alternative away from ridiculous acceleration.

Of course, there's still plenty of pace to enjoy if that's your style. Antonio Di Natale, Stephan El Shaarawy and Mario Balotelli will all have defences racing towards goal in sheer panic. Just be pleased Luis Muriel didn't make the cut.

It's interesting to see Francesco Totti and Riccardo Montolivo missing from the lineup and a Borja Valero re-release included. Many players will be disappointed to see the Italian stars left out after both having excellent seasons.

Most regrettably, no silvers have been included.
