WWE, WCW: Professional Wrestling Real or Fake? Settling the Issue
Doesn’t it get old when somebody says, “Why do you watch that? It isn’t real, it is fake." Well, no crap, dummy. We understand that wrestling is fake, but what does that have to do with us continuing to enjoy what we are watching?
It is World Wrestling Entertainment, and that’s what we watch it for.
This article is being written because I heard that exact statement the other day at work. I just shake my head at those people who continuously beat the business down time after time.

I have been a fan of wrestling ever since I was a little boy. At 17, my like for professional wrestling diminished to an every now and again type of deal.
At 23, I still know what is going on in the business to an extent, even if I may catch very little of Raw on Monday nights.
What people don't understand is that there are accidents in the WWE. Countless wrestlers have experienced real injuries every single week of the grueling WWE year-round schedule. Are those injuries fake?
The script is what makes wrestling fake. Yes, most of the time they don’t even hit each other, but on some moves, especially high-flying moves, injuries can most certainly happen.
We may really never know how much or often these superstars get injured. We should thank WWE’s Tough Enough for showing us, and possibly those people who continue to say it is fake, that it is real beyond a shadow of a doubt.
The bottom line is that these people put their body through hell, and real wrestling fans can notice and respect that.
That is why I still pay attention to the business. I respect what these superstars do for their careers because I understand that it would be tough. It would be horrible being on the road 250-300 nights a year.
It would be tough putting your body at risk every single night. These superstars are warriors.
You can hate the business because it isn’t “real” but just remember what these people do day-in-and-day-out.
Can’t we just respect it?
