Solo Sikoa Swerve is Coming, Oba Femi's Big Test, More WWE Raw Fallout

The August 10 edition of WWE Raw from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia promised surprises and major tournament action.

Solo Sikoa talked his way into a match with Jey Uso that he lost, forcing him to next face Roman Reigns. Bron Breakker and Oba Femi nearly came to blows after Austin Theory beat Akira Tozawa.

Penta defeated Laredo Kid to advance in the No. 1 contender tournament to challenge Roman Reigns. Dominik Mysterio lost to Dragon Lee.

Solo Sikoa Swerve Incoming

Solo Sikoa opened Raw and immediately came off as the biggest babyface in WWE.

By the end of the night, though, it looked like he might be turning back heel and joining The Bloodline based on his loss to Jey Uso.

That would be a mistake, but he would be following the trajectory of Jacob Fatu who was also popular before he was forced to fall in line with Roman Reigns.

This time, however, Sikoa has already spent too much time in The OTC's shadow. Cutting off his popularity now would be a massive mistake.

It looks far more likely WWE will pull another swerve in this story and have Sikoa defy his family to help LA Knight and avenge Royce Keys.

That betrayal would only further elevate Sikoa as a rebel babyface on the rise to the top of the card.

Penta Surging to WWE's Main Event

While the No. 1 contender tournament to crown a luchador to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship has only begun, the end result is a foregone conclusion.

The most popular luchador in the tournament is also the first semifinalist, Penta.

After a successful run as intercontinental champion, this tournament win can solidify his rise to the next level.

Moreover, fighting Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship will make clear that Penta is ready to work at the main event level going forward.

Even if he is unlikely to become world champion in 2026, this first opportunity will position him well to be a major world title threat in 2027.

Reheating Bron Breakker is Oba Femi's Biggest Test Yet

Oba Femi has conquered Brock Lesnar. He is the King of the Ring. He is almost certainly a future world champion.

However, none of these moments will be more important to the long-term direction of The Ruler than when he collides with Bron Breakker.

Femi is the hot star while Breakker is trying to heat up again. For that reason, it will be The Ruler's job to elevate The Badass back to relevance.

These two could be starting the biggest rivalry of the modern era if all goes well, but it will come down to this story selling Breakker as a legitimate equal to Femi before they ever lock up in the ring.

A successful story between Femi and Breakker will solidify the need to crown The Ruler by WrestleMania 43.

WWE Dropping the Ball with Dominik Mysterio

When Dominik Mysterio debuted at SummerSlam against Seth Rollins at 23 years old, all signs looked good for him to take over the company before he was 30.

It has not been a smooth road over the next six years, but Dominik has lived up to the hype in terms of his performance and popularity.

Despite that fact, it looks unlikely he will be a world champion any time soon in WWE.

Dirty Dom is the AAA Mega champion and may deliver the biggest performance of his career against El Grande Americano at Triplemania this year.

However, the main roster has not treated him nearly as well. His Intercontinental Championship reigns were always defined by his vulnerability.

It was one thing when Oba Femi on the rise squashed him in the King of the Ring. Perhaps it was understandable when Danhausen beat him with curse magic.

However, Dragon Lee, who actively works in AAA, should not be so easily defeating the AAA Mega champion on Raw.

There is little that Dom has not done well in WWE, and it is about time to reward that by treating him as a real threat rather than a joke heel who needs frequent help.

Raw Women's Division Still Needs More Stars

Nearly the entire active women's division was wrapped up in one prolonged segment with The Judgment Day this week, showing the continued lack of depth in the division.

This is after the return of Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer, who are feuding with each other and Liv Morgan.

Sol Ruca and Iyo Sky are the only other women contesting The Judgment Day, though they are solely focused now on Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.

As for the rest of the Raw roster, Asuka and Bayley are out indefinitely, while Maxxine Dupri is aligned with Austin Theory as his valet.

Ivy Nile has been forgotten. Lyra Valkyria is a fresh heel with no opponents since she will not feud with The Judgment Day as a villain.

Raw needs more names to freshen up the scene, especially since SmackDown has nearly twice the active roster with less weekly minutes.

Underused stars such as Jordynne Grace or Candice LeRae could find a fresh start on Raw. NXT also has multiple names ready for the call-up including Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan and Jaida Parker.

At least two more names could especially expand the midcard of Raw and make for a more compelling division that is not supposedly just scared of fighting Morgan.
