WWE Rumors on Zilla Fatu's Debut, Logan Paul & Bron Breakker Backstage and Austin Theory's Push
Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
Reported Details Behind Zilla's NXT Debut
Zilla Fatu made an impactful WWE debut during Tuesday night's episode of NXT, and that was reportedly always the plan for the son of legendary WWE star Umaga.
According to False Finish, Fatu was "always expected to start in NXT," much like Solo Sikoa did before him.
While Fatu is part of the Anoa'i Samoan Dynasty of wrestling, he is still just 26 years of age and only has three years of pro wrestling experience.
The same was true for Sikoa when he signed with WWE in 2021 after starting his wrestling career in 2018.
Solo only spent about a year in NXT before getting moved up to the main roster as part of The Bloodline, and it won't be a big surprise if Zilla follows that same path.
During the main event of Tuesday's NXT between Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller, Fatu crashed the party by viciously attacking both of them.
As NXT went off the air, Fatu warned NXT champion Tony D'Angelo, who was on commentary for the match.
The manner in which Fatu debuted suggests that he will be a big-time player and potential main eventer in NXT, which could put him on the fast track to Raw or SmackDown.
Breakker's Reported Backstage Relationship with Logan Paul
There is reportedly some behind-the-scenes tension between two members of The Vision stable.
According to former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman on the Coach & Bro show (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Bron Breakker "doesn't really get along with" Logan Paul backstage.
The Vision has been struck by a ton of bad luck over the past several months, starting with then-leader Seth Rollins going on the shelf with a shoulder injury last year.
After that, Breakker missed some time with an injury and both Bronson Reed and Paul got injured as well, and both of them are currently inactive from an in-ring perspective.
Breakker is one half of the world tag team champions with Austin Theory after stepping in for the injured Paul, but he feels somewhat miscast in that role since he has long been viewed as a future main event star.
While Breakker may still get to that level eventually, it is fair to wonder if he is being held back by his association with The Vision.
WWE does seem to be building him up for a singles feud with Oba Femi, though, as the past couple of weeks on Raw have focused on Breakker having an issue with Paul Heyman viewing Femi as the future of WWE.
Breakker has been more focused on that than his status as tag team champion and a member of The Vision, and that could possibly lead to him leaving the group ultimately.
If he does indeed have a strained relationship with Paul, then departing The Vision could prove to be the best thing possible for Breakker and his progression toward the top of the card.
WWE Reportedly Committing Hard to Theory Push
Amid injuries and rumors of tension, the future of The Vision is seemingly up in the air, but WWE is reportedly looking to strap the proverbial rocket to at least one member of the group.
According to Coachman on The 2 Count (h/t Mukherjee), sources indicated that the WWE creative team is "1,000 percent behind" pushing Austin Theory, and the company is "really, really high" on Theory currently.
Theory is one half of the world tag team champions with Bron Breakker, but there has clearly been an individual spotlight on him as of late.
It started several weeks ago when Maxxine Dupri turned on Otis and Akira Tozawa in order to align herself with Theory and The Vision.
Maxxine helped Theory and Breakker win back the world tag team titles, and she has involved herself in several of Theory's matches since then.
WWE seems to be attempting to present Theory and Maxxine as a power couple on Raw, giving them some potential staying power if and when The Vision disbands.
Theory is no stranger to a major push, as he held the United States Championship twice, won the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2022 and beat John Cena at WrestleMania 39, there now seems to be a renewed dedication to him.
