Kevin Durant Won't Put Timeline on Return from Knee Injury

The entire NBA is wondering how long Kevin Durant will be out, but the forward is not setting an official return date.

Chris Haynes of ESPN provided the latest from the Golden State Warriors star:

While Durant addressed the media Wednesday using crutches, he maintained a positive attitude toward his situation.

"By the grace of God, it wasn't as bad as we thought," the forward said, per Jay King of MassLive.com.

Durant suffered a knee injury early in his team's Feb. 28 game against the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center. The next day, the Warriors announced it was a Grade 2 MCL sprain and a tibial bone bruise.

The team noted he will be re-evaluated in four weeks, saying he could return before the end of the regular season.

Not only did the Warriors lose their matchup against the Wizards without Durant, but they lost the following matchup against the Chicago Bulls, marking the first time all year they suffered back-to-back defeats. Of course, the team bounced back since then with consecutive road wins over the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks.

Durant was in the midst of his first season with Golden State after signing with the franchise in the offseason. Before his injury, he led the team with 25.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. His 53.7 percent shooting from the field was also the best of his career.

While the Warriors have three other All-Stars on the roster, they will hope Durant can return to full strength by the playoffs.
