Afflalo Return Adds Boost to Knicks Offense
Afflalo was one of many additions made by the Knicks this summer, along with free-agent signings Robin Lopez and Derrick Williams and No. 4 draft pick Kristaps Porzingis, in their effort to avoid another 65-loss season.
The 30-year-old has become a solid NBA contributor, averaging at least 12.6 points per game in each of the last five seasons. He's a tremendous three-point shooter, connecting on nearly 43 percent of his attempts two years ago and 38.5 percent in his career.
Afflalo has been a reliable presence throughout his career, only missing 20 games once in eight seasons.
Considering the Knicks have plenty of ball-handlers, such as Jose Calderon and Carmelo Anthony, a player who can sit at the three-point line and score is a great asset. Afflalo's presence will help the Knicks, especially with unproven scorers like Williams, Porzingis and Lopez expected to play big roles.
