Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Brees joins Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Dan Marino and Tom Brady as a member of the exclusive 400-TD pass club, further cementing him as a future Hall of Famer.
After missing Week 3 because of a shoulder injury, Brees finished 33-of-41 for 359 yards and two touchdowns to give the Saints their first win of the season.
In terms of career completions and passing yards, Brees also shares company in the top five of all time with the game's most prolific passers. How much longer he has to add to his mind-boggling statistics remains to be seen.
As long as Brees is playing at the elite level he's capable of, New Orleans has to feel like it has a chance to win every time the team sets foot on the gridiron. A diminished supporting cast has resulted in the 36-year-old being surrounded by a dearth of proven receivers, yet the veteran signal-caller is certainly making do in light of his latest milestone achieved in Week 4.
Right shoulder issues plagued Brees in Week 2's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which brought about concerns he may be on his way to a steep decline. But amid all the criticism and assertions that his best football is behind him, Brees continues to lead the Saints in commendable fashion.
Still, if New Orleans doesn't return to the postseason after missing out last year, questions about his future will linger. Sunday's TD pass accomplishment is more about Brees' excellent legacy than what he's been doing of late.
