WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for July 20
Star power won't be a problem on the post-Battleground WWE Raw. Rumored guests and recently returned wrestlers make for a night that's sure to be bursting with big names.
The Sprint Center Kansas City, Missouri, hosts an enraged Brock Lesnar. Could Undertaker and Sting be joining him?
With SummerSlam on its way, expect Raw to increase in electricity. The calendar's second-biggest event usually generates the kind of creative focus and welcoming in of part-timers that bolsters the road to WrestleMania. Expect that to be the case after a Battleground event that saw The Deadman rise from his annual hibernation early.
The fallout from Undertaker halting Lesnar's chance at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship promises to be central to Monday's show.
What else can we expect as WWE hits Kansas City? Backstage reports and hints presented in the five-point preview from WWE.com's Joe Passantino and Michael Burdick provide plenty of answers.
News, Potential Spoilers
Undertaker may not be the only dark figure to emerge from the shadows. Fans should be on Sting watch during every Raw from here until SummerSlam.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc's Marc Middleton), Sting is expected to return at some point as part of the Wyatt Family-against-Roman Reigns storyline. Possible plans for SummerSlam include a six-man tag match that would include Dean Ambrose, Reigns and Sting or the Wyatt crew potentially adding a new member.
That last option is a necessity due to Erick Rowan still being out with an arm injury. If he doesn't heal, it's hard to imagine anyone being a perfect fit to take his spot.
WWE will have to think outside of the box here.
Change may be coming to King Barrett as well as The Wyatt Family. After defeating R-Truth on the Battleground pre-show, in what was billed as a battle for the crown, Barrett may not be ring royalty for long.
Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Wrestle Zone's Nick Paglino) noted that there is currently speculation about whether King Barrett is set to drop the king gimmick after Battleground.
That would be an odd move in the sense that winning the King of the Ring tournament has done so little for Barrett thus far. To just move on from it now would feel like the company was giving up too soon.
Whether Barrett shows up to Monday's Raw in royal regalia or not isn't certain, but Lesnar storming onto the screen with his mind on vengeance is a guarantee.
The Beast Incarnate is among those scheduled to appear in Kansas City. As James Caldwell of Pro Wrestling Torch notes, "The advertised talent roster includes Lesnar, [Seth] Rollins, [John] Cena, [Kevin] Owens, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Big Show, Bray Wyatt, and WWE tag champions Prime Time Players."
Battleground Aftermath
More than any other match on the Battleground card, Orton's win over Sheamus felt like the end of a story. The Viper's win was decisive, the action was intense and it capped off a series of battles between them.
Still, it looks like Orton vs. Sheamus isn't over. WWE.com's preview poses the question, "Considering Sheamus' irate nature, has WWE's Apex Predator seen the last of the first Irish-born world champion?" That seems to imply that The Celtic Warrior will be looking for payback.
Monday's Raw will offer a major clue about the direction of both men. If Orton and Sheamus cross paths once more, look for them to keep their rivalry going until SummerSlam.
Kevin Owens failed to capture the United States Championship from John Cena at Battleground, and now it looks like WWE has other challengers in mind going forward.
Passantino and Burdick provide a possible hint of who will step up next when they write, "Will other recent contenders, such as Cesaro and Rusev, continue to make their presence known?"
That sure sounds like one of those international talents will be getting a crack at Cena in the near future, leaving Owens' path unclear. The NXT transplant tapping out Sunday may have been the final chapter in his feud with Cena, at least for now.
While that rivalry may be done with, Wyatt vs. Reigns is clearly just getting rolling.
Thanks to Luke Harper returning to the fold, Wyatt got the win at Battleground. The preview points in the direction of Harper continuing to play a role in the Reigns feud by bringing his name up several times. Wyatt himself said in an interview after Sunday's event that "the family has returned":
Combine that with the aforementioned rumors of Sting and Reigns joining forces, and one can count on this rivalry getting plenty of attention of going forward.
Surprisingly, that can be said about the women's division as well. Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Brie Bella represented their respective teams in a Triple Threat match at the pay-per-view. The contest felt like WWE signaling a major change for its women.
Monday's Raw will give fans an idea of just how much change to expect in the future.
Will Charlotte and company be treated like afterthoughts? Will they instead get the benefit of sustained storylines and ample ring time? At the very least, the Bellas-versus-the-world angle will continue.

Passantino and Burdick write, "There is no doubt that Charlotte's win will only serve to turn up the heat tonight at Raw in the quest to knock Team Bella off the top of the mountain."
The women's division, like everyone else, though, will presumably have to give way for WWE selling the expected Undertaker vs. Lesnar rematch. The star power involved there demands as much.
And while The Phenom isn't officially set to appear on Monday's Raw, the five-point preview hints that he's likely on his way to Kansas City. On WWE.com, Passantino and Burdick write, "Considering the nature of The Undertaker, one should not rule out his appearing on WWE's flagship show tonight."
If that's the case, WWE won't be wasting any time with the SummerSlam hype-building process.
