6 Wrestlers Who Will Be Champions in WWE and AEW by the End of 2025
Championships are harder to come by in today's WWE and AEW, thanks to the companies' tendencies to book longer reigns in hopes of rewriting history and establishing the legitimacy and credibility of the titles.
Still, there is a handful of talent across both promotions who have made the most of recent pushes and have earned championship opportunities, who will ultimately strike gold in the back half of 2025.
Who are they and why should they be considered championship-worthy?
Find out with this look at those competitors who will be called "champions" by year's end.
Darby Allin
1 of 5
One of the foundational pieces of AEW, Allin has spent months conquering Mount Everest but upon his return, should be interjected right back in the world title picture, where he has unfinished business with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.
The heat and soul of the company, not unlike Sting was to WCW during its battles with the NWO, Allin was last seen brutally and violently attacked by the heel faction and will undoubtedly be revenge-minded when he returns.
What better way for him to come back to AEW with as much momentum as possible than by being the babyface who dethrones Moxley, putting an end to his tyrannical run as champion, all while winning the one title that has eluded him over the last five years?
It is a logical next step for Allin, who has accomplished every other major feat there is in the company.
Naomi

Naomi has completely reinvented herself since turning heel when it was revealed that she was in fact that perpetrator behind Jade Cargill's brutal backstage assault last November.
Cold, calculating, dangerous, and a little demented, she has transformed herself into a compelling villain with her sights set on the WWE Women's Championship, currently held by Tiffany Stratton.
There is no woman better suited to take the title and put an end to Tiffy Time, either.
Naomi is delivering some of her best in-ring work right now, as evidenced by her match with Cargill at WrestleMania 41, which exceeded all expectations, and her character work is second-to-none. She has earned a title run and will get it at some point this summer, potentially setting the stage for a showdown with her other former friend and tag team partner, Bianca Belair.
Kyle Fletcher

The Protostar has been one of the breakout stars in AEW over the last year, thanks to show-stealing performances in matches against Will Ospreay, including a Match of the Year contender inside a steel cage at Revolution and an equally as strong followup against Mark Briscoe at Dynasty.
A star who has made the most of every opportunity presented to him and in the process, laid the foundation for a future as a potential world champion, it is too soon to forecast that title win, but not others.
Whether it comes via victory over Kenny Omega for the AEW International Championship, or a win over Adam Cole for the TNT Championship, Fletcher will hold gold before the end of 2025, capping off his monumental rise up the ranks as a singles competitor and setting the stage for an even bigger, more eventful and rewarding 2026.
B-Fab and Michin
4 of 5
B-Fab and Michin have formed a bond of sorts in 2025, having each other's backs through their various rivalries and matches against top stars and champions such as Chelsea Green and her Secret Her-vice.
Look for that partnership to expand into the women's tag team division throughout the second-half of the year, earning them title opportunities against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
What better way to establish them as a unit and legitimate champions than by putting them in the same ring with a pairing that has dominated the division every time they have won gold?
Morgan is one of the most over competitors on the roster and the perfect heel foil for a team still finding its legs and in need of that all important connection with the audience.
With a little help from the current champions, expect the upstart team to strike gold closer to the end of the year.
Jamie Hayter
5 of 5
Before a devastating back injury that forced her to the sidelines for a year, Jamie Hayter was the most over woman on the AEW roster and the reigning world champion.
Her return to the squared circle was slower than imagined, but she has rediscovered her momentum and is set to battle Mercedes Moné in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament at Double or Nothing on May 25, with a shot at "Timeless" Toni Storm and the AEW Women's World Championship up for grabs.
While it may be difficult to imagine her besting Moné for that all-important victory, that contest is only the beginning of Hayer's return to form and interjection in the title picture. Whether it is Storm's championship or the TBS one currently held by Moné, Hayter is a strong candidate to return to her title-winning ways here in 2025.
