Bold WWE Predictions for the Rest of 2025

Donald WoodMay 18, 2025

For many wrestling fans, the WrestleMania 41 and Backlash Premium Live Events (PLE) were below the standards expected by the WWE Universe, but that doesn't mean the company will mail in the rest of 2025.

There are still major questions that need to be answered, including the future of John Cena and the Undisputed WWE Championship, AJ Styles' future in WWE, and Ricky Saints' eventual debut and run on the main roster.

Here are the bold WWE predictions for the rest of 2025.

Cody Beats Cena

Ever since Cena beat Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania 41, the former AEW star has been missing from WWE programming. When he does return, he should immediately chase Cena for his world title.

After Cena successfully defends his championship at SummerSlam, Rhodes should interrupt his celebration and attack his foe, setting the stage for another battle. With Cena's remaining time in WWE running low, letting Rhodes redeem himself by taking back the world title would be a smart use of all parties involved.

Rhodes needs the Undisputed WWE Championship to be viewed as a top star, and beating Cena to earn the belt back would cement his status as one of the most popular performers in the company.

Regardless of how long he holds the title or who he loses it to, Rhodes beating Cena this fall to become champion again is what WWE needs.

Ricky Saints Wins Main Roster Gold

Since making the jump from AEW to NXT, Ricky Saints has been booked like a Superstar, even winning the NXT North American Championship in just his third match under the WWE umbrella.

At 35 years old, Saints is much older than most rookies coming into WWE, but he has an aura on the mic and solid in-ring work to make a jump to the main roster worth it. For the move to Raw or SmackDown to work, though, Saints must win a championship very early into his main roster run.

Once Saints drops his NXT belt in the coming weeks, he should make his way to Monday Night Raw and immediately set his sights on Dominik Mysterio and his WWE Intercontinental Championship.

While it has felt at times like Finn Balor was destined to take the IC title from Mysterio, Triple H and WWE Creative need to understand the importance of getting Saints over with the crowd right away. Winning a secondary title within weeks of arrival is the perfect plan.

AJ Styles Leaves for AEW

Rumors have swirled about the contract status of AJ Styles in WWE, with Fightful Select saying last year that his previous would have expired in "late 2024 or early 2025." For those counting at home, it's May 2025, and the veteran is still with WWE.

For now.

At 47 years old, Styles isn't getting any younger. While his time in WWE has been incredible, far exceeding any TNA fan's wildest dreams, his booking has been lackluster at best, and his usage has been borderline criminal.

Instead of wasting the final years of his storied career stuck in meaningless midcard feuds where he is used to put over younger talent in the ring, Styles should sign with Tony Khan and AEW and have a final run on top like Sting.

Just as Cena is enjoying his retirement tour in WWE, Styles should make his final wrestling stand in AEW. Leaving his boots in the ring following a run with almost every major company of the last 30 years would be poetic justice on a Hall of Fame career.
