WWE WrestleMania's Most Impressive Stats Throughout PPV's Historic Legacy

Erik BeastonApr 18, 2025

WWE WrestleMania is the most historically significant pay-per-view, or premium live event, in professional wrestling history and as such, was destined to be home to some of the most impressive stats and records in the industry's long and illustrious history.

From the number of matches wrestled to the championships won, prepare for the big event, emanating from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with this look back at some of the records and accomplishments that help make The Showcase of the Immortals the most anticipated event of the pro wrestling calendar.

Most WrestleMania Matches and Wins: The Undertaker

No Superstar has more in-ring appearances at WrestleMania, or wins, than The Undertaker.

From his debut at the event in 1991 to his final match at the 2020 show, The Phenom competed in 27 matches.

He battled against Hall of Famers and former world champions the likes of "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Sycho Sid, Kane, Triple H, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, and AJ Styles.

With each passing year, his match on the WrestleMania card gained greater significance thanks to the aura of his unbeaten streak, which ended in 2014 when Brock Lesnar became the first Superstar to defeat him on the grand stage.

It was one of two blemishes on his record at the show, with his loss to Roman Reigns in 2017 being the other.

Still, 25 wins in 27 matches is by far the best win-loss record of any Superstar with more than five matches at WrestleMania and his excellence at the Showcase of the Immortals is unlikely to be surpassed.

Rhea Ripley: Six WrestleMania Matches, All Championship Matches

WrestleMania 40

We are in the era of The Eradicator as Rhea Ripley has taken hold of the women's division in WWE, becoming its biggest star and one of the most prominent performers in the company at large.

Since making her first appearance on the grandest stage of them all at the 2020 event, she has been involved in a championship match every year. Five WrestleManias, five title matches.

This year's event in Las Vegas marks her sixth trip to the biggest show of the year, in yet another championship bout as she and Bianca Belair challenge Iyo Sky for the Women's World Championship in a Triple Threat Match.

She currently sits at 3-2 at the event, with all three victories coming against future Hall of Famers in Asuka, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch.

Roman Reigns: 10 WrestleMania Main Events

Move over, Hulkster. There is a new WrestleMania main event leader in WWE.

For decades, Hulk Hogan held the record for most WrestleMania main events but with his Triple Threat Match against Seth Rollins and CM Punk Saturday night in Las Vegas, The Tribal Chief becomes the first and only Superstar to compete in 10 marquee bouts at the Showcase of the Immortals.

Three of those 10 match-ups have been against Brock Lesnar (2015, 2018, 2022), two have been against Cody Rhodes (2023 and 24) in singles competition and one saw him partner with The Rock to defeat Rhodes and Seth Rollins (2024), two saw him defeat Hall of Famers in Triple H and The Undertaker (2016 and 17), and in 2021, he stacked and pinned Edge and Daniel Bryan to make an emphatic statement.

It remains to be seen what outcome Reigns will face in Las Vegas but one thing is for certain: The Tribal Chief is the undisputed Head of the Table when it comes to ending WWE's most prestigious event.

Goldust: 0-7 at WrestleMania

4 of 6
WWE Live 2014 - Frankfurt

Goldust is a Hall of Fame-worthy Superstar without whom the Attitude Era likely never happens. He is a highly-decorated competitor and one of the most respected teachers in the industry today.

He also inexplicably has the most matches at WrestleMania history without a victory at seven.

The artist also known as Dustin Rhodes, brother to current Undisputed WWE champion Cody, kicked off his WrestleMania run in 1996 with a Hollywood Back Lot Brawl defeat against Roddy Piper.

What followed were six disappointing outcomes on the grand stage, with his final appearance coming in 2016 at WrestleMania 32.

An influential performer who laid the groundwork for WWE's most beloved era, Goldust is a Superstar who has earned one last dance, and that long awaited victory, on the WrestleMania stage.

WrestleMania Heists: Damian Priest, Seth Rollins, and Hulk Hogan

WrestleMania 40

Three Superstars have entered WrestleMania scheduled for other matches on the card but left the event as world champions.

Neither Hulk Hogan, Seth Rollins, nor Damian Priest were schedule for world title matches in 1993, 2015, or 2024 but they all executed perfect heists that led to some of the most notorious moments.

After losing a tag team title match via disqualification, Hogan emerged later in the WrestleMania 9 broadcast to defeat Yokozuna in an unscheduled match and win the WWE title, single-handedly setting back the company's youth movement by three months.

At WrestleMania 31, the opportunistic Rollins cashed in Money in the Bank during an actual match, joining the in-progress Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar match and pinning the former to win the WWE title and deliver one of the greatest show-closing moments ever.

Damian Priest shook off a tag title loss at WrestleMania 40 Saturday and, just 24 hours later, rushed to the ringside area, leveled Drew McIntyre with his Money in the Bank briefcase, and delivered South of Heaven to become the new world champion.

While it is unlikely we ever see the nonsense that led to Hogan's win again, Priest's cash-in in 2024 proved that Money in the Bank is never off the table when it comes to the Show of Shows, even if only two Superstars have ever utilized it at the event.

Most World Titles Won: John Cena

6 of 6
"WrestleMania 25" - Inside

Many Superstars have captured gold on the WrestleMania stage, including icons like "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Bret "Hitman" Hart, Shawn Michaels, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and Daniel Bryan.

None have taken home more world titles on wrestling's biggest night than John Cena.

The Greatest of All Time has accumulated four world title victories at the event, beginning with his first WWE Championship win in 2005 over John Bradshaw Layfield, and continuing to 2009, when he bested Big Show and Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship.

He beat Batista in 2010 for the world title, then settled the score with The Rock in 2013 for the WWE strap.

Already the second-most decorated world champion (at least recognized by WWE) in pro wrestling history behind Ric Flair, it makes sense that Cena would have won a couple on the grand stage.

He will look to do so again, extending his current record to five, when he challenges Cody Rhodes for the title in Las Vegas. This win, though, would net him No. 17 and give Cena bragging rights over all world champions as he etches his name in the history books.
