WWE to Consider India for PLE in 2026 or 2027, TKO's Nick Khan Says
WWE has expanded the scope of where it holds premium live events in recent years, and another international market may have a chance to host its first-ever WWE PLE in the near future.
According to Front Office Sports, WWE president and TKO board of directors member Nick Khan said Saturday that India "will be considered" as a possible host country for a WWE premium live event in 2026 or 2027.
WWE entered into an agreement with Saudi Arabia in 2018 that has seen the company hold multiple PLEs there annually, but that is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to WWE's foreign influence.

Since 2022, 11 main roster PLEs have been held in countries outside the United States and Saudi Arabia. The hosts of those events include Wales, Canada, Puerto Rico, England, Australia, France, Scotland and Germany.
WWE has held several shows in India over the years with the first example being a tour back in 1996. Most recently, WWE put on the Superstar Spectacle in Hyderabad, India, on Sept. 8, 2023.
Although WWE has yet to put on a PLE or televised event of any kind in India, the company has made attempts to appeal to India in the past.
The Great Khali was the first and only India-born world champion in WWE history, and Canada's Jinder Mahal, who is of Indian descent, held the WWE Championship for 169 days in 2017.
WWE parted ways with Mahal, Veer and Sanga last year, leaving the promotion without any Indian representation on its roster.
However, given that India is the most-populated country in the world, it would behoove WWE to have a presence there, which could explain the interest in bringing it a PLE for the first time.
