Amid the chaos of John Cena turning heel at Elimination Chamber on Saturday, WWE champion Cody Rhodes reportedly suffered an injury.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlePurists), rapper Travis Scott is believed to have given Rhodes a busted eardrum and a black eye during the three-on-one attack that closed Elimination Chamber.

After Cena won the men's Elimination Chamber, Rhodes and The Rock made their way to the ring so that Cody could give his answer regarding whether he would sell his soul to The Rock.

Rhodes refused, and while Cena initially celebrated with The American Nightmare, he ultimately took direction from The Rock and viciously attacked Cody, cementing one of the most shocking heel turns in pro wrestling history.

The Rock was accompanied to the ring by Scott, and he got involved in the attack on Rhodes by hitting him in the face and head at one point.

The fact that Scott seemed to actually strike Cody rather than giving him a worked punch was a hot topic of conversation on social media, and that may have been what led to Rhodes' injuries.

At the Elimination Chamber post-show press conference, The Rock said it is possible Scott could wrestle in the future.

Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News) later reported that Scott has been doing some pro wrestling training, and conversations have taken place regarding him having matches.

If that comes to fruition, Rhodes may have a chance to get his lick back against Scott at some point.

For now, Rhodes' focus is primarily on Cena, who will be his opponent at WrestleMania 41 in the likely main event of Night 2.

Reported Details on Owens vs. Zayn Match

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn reportedly went the extra mile to add some believability to their unsanctioned match at Elimination Chamber.

According to Fightful Select (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), at least one of the Superstars involved in the match requested that the barbed wire wrapped around the steel chair not be "gimmicked or shaved down."

Zayn introduced the barbed wire-wrapped chair into the match and hit Owens in the back with it a couple of times. He also sent KO face first onto the chair with a drop toehold.

There appeared to be some blood one Owens' arm at one point in the match, which may have been due to the authentic state of the barbed wire.

Owens and Zayn are longtime friends in real life who have done battle in some of the most intense matches in recent WWE history on the screen.

Their unsanctioned match was as good as any of them, especially due to the emotions evoked from Owens hitting Zayn with multiple apron powerbombs en route to victory.

After KO beat Zayn, Randy Orton made his return by targeting KO, who put him on the shelf with a piledriver a few months ago.

It was announced on Raw that Zayn will be out indefinitely, meaning he will likely sell the effects of the unsanctioned match for quite some time.

Styles Says He Won't Wrestle Into 50's

AJ Styles indicated Tuesday that his in-ring retirement could come in the very near future.

During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), the 47-year-old veteran revealed that he will no longer wrestle once he hits the age of 50.

"Do I want to wrestle in your 50s? No," Styles said. "Do I want to have a match at 50? No. There are only a few years left, that's correct. I keep saying that. I've said this over and over, but I will not wrestle at 50—I promise you that."

Styles, who will turn 48 in June, noted that he has thought about retirement "a lot," adding: "I should have known what I was doing by now. But it's so hard because I enjoy it so much, and I love being around my friends. But I have the opportunity to see them and seeing them doing well, smiling, and growing makes me happy."

After missing four months due to a foot injury, Styles returned last month as a surprise entrant in the men's Royal Rumble match.

He has recently mixed it up with intercontinental champion Bron Breakker, and on Monday night's episode of Raw, he said he intends to call out Logan Paul next week.

About two weeks ago, Fightful Select (h/t Mukherjee) reported that Styles' WWE contract was set to expire "in a matter of months" before he got injured in October.

While it is fair to assume that injury time was added to his contract, The Phenomenal One's deal could still be up in the near future.

Fightful noted that while there is a "pretty solid possibility" of Styles re-signing with WWE, it doesn't appear as though that has happened yet.

Styles' next contract figures to be his last as an active wrestler since he is just over two years away from turning 50, so he has plenty to weigh regarding whether he wants to end his career in WWE or test the waters elsewhere such as AEW.

The manner in which Styles is handled leading up to WrestleMania 41 could possibly play a big role in his decision, as could the match he has on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
