WWE Superstar of the Week for July 4
We are at the halfway point between Money in the Bank and Battleground, and things are starting to become a little boring in the land of WWE.
We have seen the same matches over and over, but among all the monotony, a few Superstars have shined.
Before we discuss the Superstar of the Week, let's take a look at a few people who performed well over the past seven days.
Honorable Mention: Chris Jericho and Neville

The Beast in the East special from Japan delivered some incredible moments, and one of the matches that definitely stood out was Chris Jericho vs. Neville.
Jericho is somehow able to take several months off at a time and return with no ring rust whatsoever. It's like he found the fountain of youth and drank the whole thing.
However, he couldn't have had the kind of match he did without the insanely talented Neville serving as his opponent. These two put everything on the line and came close to stealing the show.
Both of them used just about every trick they had in their arsenal, but when it was all said and done, the high-flying skills of Neville weren't enough to overcome the veteran experience of Jericho, who finished things off with a classic Liontamer.
Honorable Mention: Cesaro
Monday's Raw saw the return of John Cena's weekly open challenge for the United States Championship, and the man who answered the call was Cesaro.
Not only did Cena and Cesaro steal the show, but they put on a candidate for Match of the Year. Everything they did looked great, and they proved that they have amazing chemistry.
Cesaro has been one of the most talented workers for a long time, but WWE never seems to know how to use him properly. His mic skills might not be the strongest, but what he lacks in that area he more than makes up for where it matters: between the ropes.
He has proved time and time again that he can have an amazing match with just about anybody, but he can't take all the credit. Cena was just as integral to the success of their bout as Cesaro was.
Cesaro's time with Paul Heyman was a waste for both men, and his team with Jack Swagger only scratched the surface of what he is capable of. He seemed to find his groove teaming with Tyson Kidd, but an unfortunate injury sidelined Kidd and put any plans WWE had for them on hold.
Now that he is on his own again, it's up to the Swiss Superman to prove to everyone that he deserves to be booked as a major threat to anyone with a title. Monday's match with Cena convinced even his biggest critics that he is capable of great things.
If the powers that be had any sense, they would be pushing Cesaro as a contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship once Brock Lesnar is out of the picture. Let's hope this is the first step to Cesaro finally getting the push he deserves.
Superstar of the Week for July 4: Finn Balor
Chris Jericho and Neville had a great match at Beast in the East, but nobody was going to match the sheer excitement and emotion felt during Finn Balor and Kevin Owens' showdown for the NXT Championship.
Ever since he began appearing regularly on the main roster, we all knew it was just a matter of time before Owens dropped the title, and WWE couldn't have picked a better time for it to happen.
Balor was a huge star in Japan as a member of The Bullet Club, and having him win the NXT Championship in the same arena where he wrestled so many great matches for New Japan Pro Wrestling was almost poetic.
The way the Japanese audience greeted him made him look like the biggest star on the card. Even Brock Lesnar didn't get the kind of reception Balor received.
"Congrats to new @WWENXT champ @wwebalor!!!
— Renee Young (@ReneeYoungWWE) July 4, 2015"
The streamers that filled the ring and the standing ovation at the end of the match were fitting for such a memorable title win, and you can bet that this moment will forever live in Balor's memory.
He and Owens more than lived up to the hype, and if WWE is smart, Balor will be chasing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship within the next two years.
For the time being, it's going to be a lot of fun to watch him reign over NXT as its rightful champion. If you didn't see this match when it aired live, you need to set some time aside, because Owens and Balor put on an instant classic.
