The Buffalo Bills have placed running back C.J. Spiller on injured reserve after he suffered a broken collarbone in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. However, the team did leave itself some wiggle room in case he recovers quickly.

Per ESPN's Adam Caplan, this means that Spiller will be eligible to return after eight weeks if he's physically capable of playing:

Spiller took to Twitter to talk to fans post-surgery:
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk initially reported that Spiller's season was expected to be over after he underwent surgery.
The earliest Spiller would be able to return is Week 16 against the Oakland Raiders. At 4-3, the Bills are firmly in the playoff race and just one game behind the New England Patriots in the AFC East.
