WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from October 16, 2014

Erik BeastonOct 17, 2014

Sami Zayn's road to redemption kicked off this week on NXT with a huge main event pitting him against Tyson Kidd. After an exchange of barbs and insults earlier in the evening, it was sure to be a hard-fought match to cap off another excellent episode of WWE's most consistently great brand. Who would emerge victorious and earn bragging rights?

Zayn answered that question with an emphatic Helluvah Kick.

The future of the brand looks bright, with Baron Corbin tearing through the competition and Carmella embarking on her in-ring career.

Speaking of NXT Divas, Charlotte and Becky Lynch wrestled another spirited bout Thursday night, with Ric Flair's daughter scoring the big pinfall victory. Where does this leave Lynch, and better yet, can anyone actually beat Charlotte?

The answer may very well be no.

With another edition of NXT in the books, relive the biggest winners, losers and moments, exclusively here on Bleacher Report!

Winner: Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn has come so close to winning the NXT Championship so many times but has never quite been able to finish the deal and actual capture the title.

His inability to score the win has earned him great scrutiny, especially from commentator Alex Riley, who demanded to see Zayn worry about winning his main event match against Tyson Kidd Thursday night and then inspire fans with his grit, guts and determination.

That is exactly what Zayn did, folding Kidd up with the exploder suplex and collapsing him with the Helluvah Kick en route to his biggest victory in months.

Maintaining the momentum will be key for Zayn if he wants his so-called road to redemption to run smoothly. If he can do that, he will reach the promised land and may prove to be just the guy to end Adrian Neville's lengthy NXT Championship run.

Loser: Sylvester Lefort

Just moments into The Legionnaires' tag bout against Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady on Thursday, Marcus Louis had the wig ripped from his head, his chrome dome exposed to the entire world. The humiliation triggered something in Louis, who snapped and assaulted his own tag team partner, the man who was responsible for his degradation in the first place.

The beating suffered by Lefort was brutal, as the Frenchman had to be helped off by officials, his union with the younger star officially over. Who will he turn to in order to keep The Legionnaires team together? More importantly, after seeing how he treated Louis, who would want to team with him?

Winner: Becky Lynch

Even in defeat, Becky Lynch earns a spot in this week's winner's circle thanks to a backstage segment that appears to have her poised to undergo an attitude change and perhaps inject a little adrenaline into her in-ring career.

Sure, she dropped another match to Charlotte, essentially falling for the same thing Emma did a few weeks back, but it was the post-match vignette with Sasha Banks in the locker room that really hinted at some upward mobility awaiting Lynch in the coming weeks.

Will the Becky Lynch we see in the coming weeks be the same energetic fan favorite, or will the advice given to her by Sasha Banks strike a nerve, resulting in a heel turn and a match made in hell between two Divas bent on ending Charlotte's NXT Championship run?

Only time will tell. Either way, it is a good thing for someone so incredibly talented and deserving of more than she has been given thus far.

Loser: Tyson Kidd

Not only did the last graduate of the famed Hart Family Dungeon have to endure jabs by Sami Zayn over his relationship with wife Nattie, but Kidd then proceeded to lose the night's main event, further putting him out of title contention.

What's next for a man who is arguably the MVP of NXT in 2014? Perhaps Zayn's seemingly throwaway comment about Nattie's number being in Tyler Breeze's phone was not quite as flippant and meaningless as it first seemed.

Winner: Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin is money. Big money. Goldberg money. Don't believe me? Fire up the WWE Network, watch his entrance and listen to the reception he receives and come back. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Waiting...

What you just watched was the definition of a star. Corbin has such a presence, such an aura that surrounds him that he draws the attention of everyone when enters the room. That is most certainly the case in the NXT Arena at Full Sail University, which came unglued for the big man's arrival Thursday night.

It may be blasphemous to make the comparison, but Corbin is very reminiscent of The Undertaker in that he carries himself like a star at all times and remains in character, never breaking no matter how flattering the chants or loud the pop. He is believable in his new biker badass gimmick, probably because he has thrown himself into the character.

Add to that his sudden and quick-strike nature between the ropes, and you have a performer who absolutely captivates the audience from the moment he steps onto the stage until he walks back through the curtain.

There are certain times when we as fans can point to a guy and say, "he's got it." Baron Corbin has it in spades.
