Dean Ambrose Earns Right to Face Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell
Although there was plenty of doubt among wrestling fans, Dean Ambrose was chosen by WWE to be Seth Rollins' opponent at Hell in a Cell. The Lunatic Fringe earned the match by defeating John Cena in a Contract on a Pole match on Raw, and he will now have an opportunity to get revenge on Mr. Money in the Bank once and for all.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Was This Handled Correctly?
Ambrose has been at odds with Rollins ever since the latter turned his back on the Shield in the summer. The heat between them continued to intensify thereafter, and things truly reached a fever pitch when Rollins Curb Stomped his former Shield partner on cinder blocks during an episode of Raw. That kept Ambrose out of action for several weeks, but he returned with a vengeance and attacked his tormentor at Night of Champions.
The only pay-per-view bout between Ambrose and Rollins thus far came in the form of a Lumberjack match at SummerSlam. Both men put in a great deal of effort, but it wasn't a proper resolution to their rivalry. There is no better way for two wrestlers to settle the score than to lock horns in the cell. While WWE ultimately reached the correct destination with Ambrose and Rollins, it can be argued that the journey to get there was less than ideal.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
WWE's original plan for Hell in a Cell was for Ambrose and Cena to face each other at the pay-per-view with the winner taking on Rollins later in the night. That was changed on Raw, with Triple H forcing them to wrestle a couple of weeks early. It was also announced that the loser of the match would go on to face Randy Orton at the pay-per-view. As good as Ambrose vs. Rollins has the potential to be, Cena vs. Orton is beyond played out, and it is difficult to imagine too many fans being excited about it.
One way to avoid another match between Cena and Orton would have been to make the Hell in a Cell main event a Fatal 4-Way involving all four Superstars. If the company was in favor of doing that match all along, though, there was no reason to go through with Cena vs. Ambrose, which turned out to be an awful gimmick match.
Orton should have diverted Cena's attention away from Rollins right after Night of Champions, or Rollins' opponent should have been determined via a Beat the Clock Challenge, with the loser facing Orton. Half of this equation looks very good entering Hell in a Cell, but the build toward it was perplexing to say the least.

Hell in a Cell Touting Two Main Event Matches
Only one match can close the show at Hell in a Cell, but WWE hasn't yet let on which bout it will put in that position. It is essentially guaranteed that either Ambrose vs. Rollins or Cena vs. Orton will headline, given they will both take place in the cell. Based on the language used on Raw, however, WWE is treating both of them as main event matches.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Which Match Will Close the Show?
Although Cena and Orton have their fair share of fans, it is difficult to imagine too many people truly believing that they should main event Hell in a Cell. They may be the top two faces of the company over the past decade, but both have stale characters and haven't had a truly entertaining match against each other in quite some time. In addition to that, Cena and Orton haven't actually been feuding with each other in recent weeks.
Cena put his entire focus on going after Rollins, and that was the main storyline in WWE of late. With that in mind, it would be bizarre to keep Rollins out of the main event, especially since he is the company's fastest-rising star. The concern among those who want Ambrose vs. Rollins to go on last is that WWE has a habit of putting Cena in the main event spot when he isn't necessarily worthy of being in that position.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
The threat of a Cena vs. Orton main event at Hell in a Cell is very real, but the creative team has to realize that everything has been building toward Ambrose and Rollins closing out the event. They have been at odds for several months, and their feud has been one of the year's most heated. They also have more momentum than anyone else on the roster, which should count for something.
While there is no question that Orton and Cena are standbys who can be counted upon when needed, WWE needs to start building up its next generation of stars. Ambrose and Rollins are at the very top of the list, and they have earned an opportunity to show what they can do in a big-match situation. There hasn't been a truly great Hell in a Cell match for a few years—Ambrose and Rollins have all the tools necessary to put on one of the greatest of all time.
Both guys are more than willing to put their bodies on the line and go the extra mile in order to leave a lasting impact. WWE doesn't always make the right decisions, but it won't let Cena and Orton blind it from putting Ambrose and Rollins in the final match.

RRR Interview with TNA's Eddie Edwards
Tag team wrestling often gets put on the back burner in the current era of professional wrestling, but TNA star Eddie Edwards has been helping to change that. As one half of the TNA Tag Team Champions with Davey Richards, Edwards has helped revitalize the art. Edwards recently joined Ring Rust Radio to discuss that and much more.
Question on Everybody's Mind: What's Next for Edwards?
Since joining TNA in January, Edwards and Richards have taken the tag team division by storm. The Wolves are the current tag champs and have beaten all comers to this point. That includes both the Hardys and Team 3D, who the Wolves recently defeated in a four-match series.
With those three teams often featuring in the main event of Impact over the past few weeks, Edwards admitted that improving the profile of tag team wrestling has been of great importance to him.
"Definitely. That's always been our goal—not only for the Wolves ourselves, but for tag team wrestling in general—to bring it back to the forefront and make it the focus of not only TNA but pro wrestling in general because I think, every once in a while, it gets washed by the wayside. We just want to be a main focus and show the true magic that is tag team wrestling.
"
If the Wolves continue to have great matches like the ones they had against some of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history, then there is no doubt that tag team wrestling is on the rise.
Ring Rust Radio's Take
As great as Edwards and Richards are as a team, both men have had success as singles stars in the past. They have each won the ROH World Championship and proven to be among the best in-ring workers in the world today. Despite that, Edwards is in no hurry to return to singles wrestling.
In fact, he is content to take some of the things learned from the Hardys and Team 3D and apply it to his own team moving forward.
"I mean, we have no choice but to learn from being in the ring with those guys. Both teams are legends and me and Davey both watched them growing up and want to have careers like...those guys. Being in there, you have no choice but to learn and see what true tag wrestling is, and it's just an honor to be in there with guys of that caliber.
"
The big challenge at this point is for the Wolves to maintain their level of performance against teams that aren't as storied as the Hardys and Team 3D. Edwards and Richards have established themselves to the point that it shouldn't be an issue, though.
The sky is the limit for the Wolves, and there is no question that Edwards will be a huge part of their continued success.
