Goalies: Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

Defensemen: Carlos Bocanegra (Rangers), Timmy Chandler (FC Nürnberg), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Oguchi Onyewu (Sporting CP), Michael Orozco Fiscal (San Luis), Tim Ream (New York Red Bulls), Jonathan Spector (Birmingham City)

Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Michael Bradley (Chievo), Clint Dempsey (Fulham), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Jeff Larentowicz (Colorado Rapids), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), Daniel Williams (Hoffenheim)

Forwards: Juan Agudelo (New York Red Bulls), Jozy Altidore (AZ), DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Teal Bunbury (Sporting Kansas City), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy)

My thoughts:

  • Klinsmann seems to have fallen in love with Hamid as the No. 2. I would like to see Klinsmann give him a game to see if he is up to the challenge.
  • There is no left-back called in, unless he plans on moving Bocanegra over to the left, or tries Chandler there again—it's a head-scratcher.
  • I do like the inclusion of Onyewu; he is getting regular playing time again, and could be a huge lift to the back line. I would have rather seen Omar Gonzalez over Tim Ream, but nice to see a young MLS defender in there regardless.
  • Where is Mix? We know what Beckerman can give us—let's get some new blood in there. Daniel Williams is an interesting call-up, more of a defender though.
  • Good to see Beasley back in the squad after his form in Mexico. Surprised Herculez Gomez is not in after his goals in Mexico.
  • Overall, it's a decent squad. There are a couple players I would have like to have seen called up, but all and all they should be able to do a job in these friendlies.

Where can I comment?
